LFW Weekend Championship Preview Thursday, 20th Aug 2009 20:38
LFW returns with it's regular look ahead to the fortchoming weekend fixtures from the Coca Cola Championship.
Good evening and welcome back to LFW Championship preview and even at this early stage, it looks as though it's going to be another great season when anyone can beat anyone, on their day. With just three games gone, there are no 100% records to boast. The three new arrivals from the Prem, Middlesborough, Newcastle and West Brom have all made decent starts and currently sit 2nd, 3rd and 5th respectively. Of the teams promoted from League One, Leicester have faired the better, currently sitting in 9th, with Scunthorpe in 15th and Peterborough in 20th. Leading the way so far are Cardiff and big spenders and QPR's Saturday opponents, Nottingham Forest are currently in the bottom three. LFW Preview of the game, which sees the return to Loftus Road of Lee Camp and Dexter Blackstock, will be online soon.
Onto the weekend's action and there are two TV games. Sunday's selection looks a cracker as leaders Cardiff host fellow high flyers, Bristol City. Saturday's live game comes from the Hawthorns as West Brom take on Roy Keane's Ipswich. The Tractor Boys have just one point from their 3 games in what has been a disappointing start for Keane's men. The Baggies will look to carry on their decent start but have been dealt a blow with the news that Captain, Johnathon Greening has today joined Fulham on a season long loan deal, with a view to a permanant move to Craven Cottage.
Elsewhere, and Middlesborough will look to bring their decent away record back to the Riverside, with the visit of Doncaster. The Toon Army will be descending on South London as they face a tricky looking trip away to Crystal Palace, fresh from their midweek win at Ipswich where the two goals the Eagles scored, actually counted this time around. Early pace setters, Coventry have a home tie with Swansea, who are one off the bottom with just one point to show for their three games in what is an early struggle for former R's boss, Paulo Sousa.
