Reid To Miss Start Of Season Wednesday, 15th Jul 2009 11:06 Centre-half Paul Reid will not be fit in time for the start of the new season, due to an on-going knee injury. Reid picked up the injury during the U's draw at Huddersfield Town in early March and was sidelined for the remainder of the 2008/09 campaign. Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Reid confirmed: "The consultant basically explained to me that I had suffered quite a big injury, so I mustn't rush it. At the beginning I was told that I would be out for six months, and it's only four months since I did the injury, so I'm still confident of getting back to full fitness by then. "However, it seems that I will definitely miss the start of the new season, which is disappointing. "I didn't want to miss pre-season, because it can be so difficult to catch up."
