Jamie Guy's loan move to Port Vale now won't be going ahead after the striker picked up an knee injury.

The 22-year-old was due to sign for the Valiant's late last week, but tore cartilage in his knee whilst training with the Vale squad, and now requires an operation.

Vale boss Micky Adams hasn't ruled out a move for Guy one he is fit again, telling BBC Radio Stoke: "We'll monitor the situation because he's someone I would like to sign."
