Macca must make his mind up soon!

Gary McAllister must make his mind up on the fate of two trialists when Leeds visit Barnet on Saturday.

As well as making four signings permanent this summer, Leeds may well add to their numbers further before we head to Scunthorpe in little over a fortnight's time.

Hopefuls Marcus Haber and Luciano Becchio both impressed during United's recent tour of the Irish republic, and Gary McAllister must make his mind up soon whether or not to take the Canadian and Argentine hitmen on a permanent basis.

Leeds were expected to make a decision on Haber earlier this week, but Macca wants another look at the Canadian U21 international at Underhill tomorrow.

Becchio's arrival has ignited something of an interest amongst United's hard-to-please followers, largely due to his exotic pedigree..his past clubs include Barcelona and Mallorca.

Both are young, keen and surely fit the new Leeds' bill better than the worrying speculation this week linking us with the likes of Wolves flop Jay Bothroyd and Whites' hating old-timer Dean Windass!

However, there is a perplexing question, if Macca was to offer permanent deals to one or both even, would we be top-heavy in the striker department?

Out of the four summer signings so far, two have been strikers, Enoch Showunmi and latest arrival Robert Snodgrass will be looking at pushing ex-Barnet man Tres Kandol and Jermaine Beckford for the starting roles - although Macca has admitted he may vary the 4-4-2 formation next-term.

Incidentally Tres has been ruled out at Barnet, according to reports, because he has been laid low with a virus.

Leeds have shipped out three strikers this summer in Leon Constantine, Tomi Ameobi and Antony Elding.

Its all getting a bit like the O'Leary days when we had the likes of Viduka, Smith, Keane and Fowler all battling to be included in the starting line-up!

However strikers are something you can never be short of from a fans' point of view.
