Dale head to Gigg Lane on Tuesday evening for a friendly with Bury FC

Do we get it out the way now? Ok, League One newcomers Rochdale head to face lower league opposition when they take on bottom division side Bury who are battling to get out of the basement after eight long years.

There'll be a collection of former players on both sides, with Brian Barry-Murphy likely to be the most high profile as he makes his first return to Gigg Lane since leaving in June. Also within the Dale ranks are Chris O'Grady and Jason Kennedy both of which had loan spells with the Shakers.

Within the Bury camp will be former Dale loanee Andrew Haworth. Haworth had a rather mixed spell at Spotland, with some great cameos in a spell that didn't provide as much match action as he would have liked. He joins former Dale striker Andy Bishop in the Bury squad - a striker linked with Dale earlier in the Summer.

It's reported that Dale fans have been given an allocation of 1000 places in the South Stand. For those not 100% knowledgeable about this famous old ground, the South Stand is the all seated stand down the touchline, opposite to the Main Stand.

Admission to this game will be £12 for adults, and £5 for senior citizens / under 16's / disabled supporters.
