County's first team recorded their second win in 5 days after beating Skelmersdale United 3-0 in a pre-season friendly game played at Stormy Corner. Once again manager Paul Simpson made various changes throughout the game as he tried to give all his squad a run out ahead of the season opener on 7th August.

Summer signing Barry Conlon opened the scoring for the Hatters from the penalty spot in the 7th minute, after winger Tommy Rowe had been upended in the box. The Hatters lead was doubled in the 19th minute as winger Ritchie Partridge set up one of the trialists (Ryan Kendall) for a goal before he also had a hand in the third goal in the 35th minute, as his cross was met by the head of midfielder Paul Turnbull.

COUNTY: Fon Williams (TRIALIST 60 mins), Lynch (Halls 55 mins), Swailes (Rose 55 mins), TRIALIST, Griffin, Turnbull, Partridge (Pilkington 60 mins), Vincent (Tansey 60 mins), Conlan (Fisher 65 mins), TRIALIST, Rowe (Poole 65 mins).
