Hamshaw Signs On
Hamshaw Signs On

What great news this is.  Macclesfield Town have just announced that Matty Hamshaw has put pen to paper on a one year contract after the midfielder put in a couple of great performances in the last week.

Hamshaw is only 28.  He seems to have been in the game for a lot longer so his experience in the squad will be invaluable to the younger players.

Hamshaw began his career at Sheffield Wednesday back in 1998 where he stayed for seven seasons making 74 appearances whilst scoring 2 goals.

He moved to Edgeley Park in 2005 where Stockport County had a terrible season in League 2 including a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Macc.

After a fall out with Jim Gannon, in 2006 he signed for Mansfield Town and was a crowd favourite.

2008 saw him move to Notts County where he stayed two seasons before being released in May of this year.

Matt has scored at the Moss Rose just once whilst playing for Notts County in 2009.

We wish Matty luck at the Moss Rose.  All together now "der der der der, Matty Hamshaw, der der der der, Matty Hamshaw".
