Stoke Head to Derby while Hulse Heads To Blackpool?
Stoke Head to Derby while Hulse Heads To Blackpool?

As the Rams prepare to face Premiership opposition tomorrow night at Pride Park, speculation is growing they may do it without the services of Rob Hulse.

Stoke City will be heading to Derbyshire for the first real test of the Rams pre-season build up but it seems fans could be distracted by someone heading out of the County.

Over the last year or more Rob Hulse has pretty much been linked with every team in the Championship and various Premier League teams without any move coming to fruition.

Today the rumblings in the media once again rose from a rumble to a roar as it is rumoured that the Rams are locked in discussions with Blackpool over a fee for their number 9.

Most fans will agree if the club can get a tidy fee for the player, while he is still a valuable commodity, it would be good business.

What they may not accept is selling the clubs most likely scorer without a replacement waiting in the wings for the money to be re-invested in quickly.

Perhaps Hooper, Vaughan or Cox will finally become more than just speculation should money become available. If not the wrath of the fans may be felt before the real action commences.

Of course it could all be purely be speculation and like last seasons Boro links, amount to nothing. Time will tell!

We are goal-shy without Hulse (who isn't particularly prolific) and if DCFC expect Clough to rely on newcomer Cywka, Commons (when fit) and Porter (when fit), plus out-of-favour Luke Varney, they are in for a very rude awakening when the League competiton commences.
