Agreed. That was immense. The goal celebrations for Mardens's acrobatic remake of Pele's Escape to Victory effort was the best ever as well. That Norwich Home game was good, but two weeks later we were relegated so no fond memories from me for that one |
| Forum Reply | Interesting question, would you ever want Saints to lose a match? at 18:42 15 May 2024
I am bored of it because it is boring. Regarding fans of United, Liverpool etc, I don't class those people who live round here and never go as fans. The same type of people will be supporting City soon, if not already, so no difference. Even when Liverpool were dominant in the 70s and 80s, there were still teams running them close and even other sides winning. City winning 4 in a row is unprecedented in England. |

Not quite the same, but I remember a game at home to Oldham where the general concensus pre match was, if lost, Branfoot may go. Didn't want us to lose, and I cheered Ruchard Hall's winner as much as anyone, but it was certainly discussed. Can understand the Spurs fans feelings, and I wanted them to win last night as I am bored of the monopoly that City have |

It's under 50 miles from Rotherham to Leeds. Anyone going to Elland Rd tomorrow could go to that Rotherham pub first, have a few free beers, then nip over to Leeds |

Exactly. We need to attack these play offs. Go on with a clean slate and go back to what we have been doing at times this season. Both Ipswich and Leeds will have their issues going in the play offs, and we haven't lost to WBA or Norwich. This is where a manager needs to earn his corn and build his players up, and where we as supporters need to make a difference as well. We don't need silly songs about skates or libraries, just a constant roar of support. Of course, come tomorrow I may feel completely different, but at the moment, I am full of anticipation |

United have got this system in place. A friend of mine is a United season ticket holder and missed out on tickets for an away but both his parents got them. His mum said he could have her ticket, but they got drawn out to have to collect tickets, so she had to go with them to collect tickets and went shopping whilst her husband and son went to the match. As it turns out, they would have been fine as the husband could have got them, but United weren't giving out that much info beforehand I wonder if talk of this has come from the amount of FB/Twitter posts from people selling tickets immediately that they are on sale or offering out their ST numbers pre sale. Will happen a lot next season if people are looking to boost numbers ahead of Pompey away (maybe) [Post edited 19 Mar 17:26]

James Beattie at a party where he was quizzing me over the details of my vasectomy, and whether I'd been able to watch the procedure. Mark Dennis in The Exchange pub in Winchester, where I told him that my pompey mate I was with had thrown the coin that hit him. |

Here comes Taylor (Harwood-Bellis) Here comes Taylor And I say, it's alright. Here Comes the Sun (Harrison). I do realise this could be used for just about any player, but Alexa played it on shuffle earlier |

I would rather Arsenal or Liverpool win the league than City. No issue with Klopp/Liverpool and I have never given Arteta a second thought. Just don't want City winning everything again. But I won't be losing sleep over any of the outcomes |

When we played that Leicester game in 83/4, they were bottom of the league with 1 point. In normal conditions, it is fair to say we'd have won. When it was replayed a few weeks later, they'd picked up and they beat us. Then we finished runners up by 3 points. Remember that Crewe replay as well. I guess we had about 1500 up there (?). Next round was Swindon away and Saints put tickets on sale at The Dell at 9am next morning. Cheers then. |

Those coming from London tomorrow would do as well to go Paddington-Reading-Southampton anyway as trains are diverted via Chertsey and the Byfleet curve |

JJ was buying drinks for everyone in the pub on Tuesday. Never seen anything like it. It was like the last days of Rome |
