Looks likely though doesn't it? Especially with him being a youngster at Liverpool and still being a fan.
Lambert for £4m is far more the kind of striker signing they were going to make anyway. They need better depth in many positions, so they were never going to spunk £20m of a presumably healthy but not limitless transfer budget on Bony. |  |

The thing that worries me about the Liverpool/ Lambert/ Bony story is the suggestion that the asking price was 20m. If true, that isn't high enough. The replacement we'd get for that would be another gamble - certainly if we expect a Bony level of performance. I could see the Gooners coming in at about 20m, but to me 6m profit is not that great. | | | |

No club was willing to take that kind of a risk on Michu last summer so I can't see it happening with Bony this time around either, unless someone with virtually limitless resources like PSG or Man City fancy him. |  | | |

Absolutely! we took a very educated gamble on Bony....a gamble that other clubs have done on strikers, and failed miserably.
Huw and the boards gamble paid off, £3 million profit on such an expensive gamble would derisory to me, as I'm sure Huw will do.
Don't want to see Bony go, but if his head is turned by bigger wages and the prospect of champions league - then £25 million as an absolute minimum. |
