The difference being liebour had already spent all the money and sold the gold when times are good so we had no savings to ride out the last one. Can't you read? I said neither party could avoid the recessions if they are global. Its a fact of life they will still blame each other as that's politics. So why are you asking me to make my mind up when I've clearly stated my opinion in my post?
However the key for me is which party responds to the vent and plans for getting through the event and in my opinion the conservatives are 10 times better at this than liebour who spend all their time in office spending as much as they can knowing full well when they get voted out they leave nothing left for anyone else to work with. The Tories then spend the next 5 years trying to sort out the mess

Forgotten the Donkey Jacket, how appallingly shallow the media were even then. One of Parliament's last great orators, he would be hopeless in our 30 second soundbite world, he could talk an issue through start to finish. A great admirer of the man, even if he was too left wing for me.
