The worst for a number of years perhaps GM was forced to tinker with the midfield because of injuries/suspension/Asia Cup but couldn't he have done it in the cup and not against a side that needed no invitation to exploit all the space on offer. Midfield used to be one of our strongest area but that is not the case apart from Ki none of our midfielders have shown the versatility that JDG used to give us. Monk can we please get back to basics and for us that is passing the ball well! |  | | |

There was one particular passage of play by us in 2nd half, Chelsea stopped pressing so much, after 6 or 7 passes between back 4 we were still struggling to get out of our box.

I'll disagree with you there. I like the look of Carroll, but he's not suited to the role we asked him to play yesterday. He's not a DM by any stretch of the imagination. He's a Joe Allen. A fetcher and carrier. There's certainly a role for him here provided it's in tandem with others.
JdG was undoubted class but Napoli could offer him CL football. Price we pay for not trying to sign him permanently during his first season here. | |

All this underlines how important Ki is to us who would have said that last season. We are the victims of our own success losing key players to two tournaments of course we have now lost Wilf for good. Do we need to dip a little deeper into this transfer window, Lennon could be up for grabs as well as Shaun W Phillips or perhaps Maloney could do us a job until sort out his transfer to Celtic when his contract runs out in June or even Scott Sinclair!!! | | | |

Preferably players who know what colour your team play in, just to be able to complete passes.
For the last few weeks, we seem to have forgotten how to pass to a teammate. Maybe some players need a colour blindness test.
Not sure yesterday was the "boot up the rse" our team needed as it was one of (arguably) the top 4 teams in Europe (possibly the world) that we lost (abysmally) to.
Thank fuk for Fab in goal otherwise that could have been even more embarrassing than our fans doing a fire drill right out of the stadium at half time (some 200 according to the stewards, that's just one door!)
Not sure if some of the team think they don't have to try as they've "made it and are big time players now" Big time charlies more like after the effort on show yesterday.
Lose- yes can always happen in sport, even to Chelsea, City, United, Barca, RM, Bayern Tiger Woods, Usain Bolt etc.
Lose because you don't try. That's just an abuse of position.
Oh well. Yesterday was really disappointing because of the lack of effort.
