Nice selection problem, with most players fit.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

just the same as last game really but swap caroll for siggy so something like

-------fabianski---
Naughton---fede----ash----taylor
--------ki--------cork
-------shelvey----gylfi
------routledge
------------gomis

honestly that looks like a pretty badass line up especially with the wingers not really doing so well. Also i think with both shelvey and gylfi, there will be so many goalscoring chances and more set ups to gomis.

Yes...and let's hope Spurs are "leggy" after Thursday & Sunday.
Can't bloody wait for WHL on Wednesday night

Agreed except I'd start Montero over Routledge.

If we did go back to the standard two winger formation, I wouldn't mind seeing Ki get a rest in favour of Cork/JJS as our DM's. Ki has been great - don't get me wrong - but he's due a rest, and the addition of Cork and the improved (smarter) play of JJS allow Monk to experiment in the midfield.

Also wouldn't mind seeing Oliveira get his chance.

i honestly think montero is best coming on as a second half sub.

actually I wouldnt mind seeing emnes instead of routledge in that posisiton. mainly because he always chases down and works really hard. also I think he does well when he plays in that type of position

Ki can have a rest after this game.
We don't play LIverpool until a week Monday.

Regardless of everyone being fit, are we too reliant on a core group of 13 to 14 players?

True, but unless we stick to the "diamond" midfield, we have to sit 1 of these 4:

1) Siggy
2) JJS
3) Ki
4) Cork

Very tough call, but I'd choose Ki and plan to bring him in as a sub.

If tactically it doesn't work out then get one of the wingers on early doors but based on their collective performances over recent months none of them deserve a place in the starting 11.

Good point maybe britton in his place, doubt this formation will get the go ahead as long as we give Spurs a hard time i don't mind

I've heard completely conflicting opinions whether or not we need wings against the Spurs. Perhaps it's not a black and white question. If that's the case, maybe we stick with what has worked the last two weeks.

Another interesting test for Monk.

We have won the last 2 games playing that formation so may as well stick with it as long as it is working.

I would go with Montero and Siggy playing behind the main striker as I think the threat of Montero's pace with Gylfi (and Shelvey's) through balls would give Spurs a problem.

Fabianski

Naughton Fernandez Williams Taylor

Ki Cork Shelvey

Siggy Montero

Gomis

Id start with 2 wingers and really go hard at Spurs in the first 20 minutes, try to stick a couple on them while they wake up from the COC final.
After about half an hour, revert to the diamond and clog up midfield to stop them getting back at us.

If you can fill the unforgiving minute. With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
