HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Blackpool midfielder Andrea Orlandi is to leave after exercising release clauses in his contract.
Blackpool had hoped to take up the option of a one-year extension with Orlandi to keep the Spaniard at Bloomfield Road, but the 30-year-old has opted to invoke a release clause to leave the relegated club.
Orlandi is understood to have a relegation clause in his contract and he has triggered an appearance clause allowing him to leave after completing 23 games.
A number of Championship clubs are thought to have been alerted to Orlandi's availability on a free transfer and are weighing up moves for the classy playmaker.
Orlandi made 30 appearances in all competitions for Blackpool this season, scoring four goals as they suffered relegation from the Championship.
The former Brighton and Swansea man began his career at Spanish side Alaves and also had a short spell at the Barcelona reserve team before joining Blackpool last summer.
The news of Orlandi's imminent departure is another blow for Blackpool following the resignation of Lee Clark last weekend as they prepare for life in League One.
