I was over in the US recently and I remember seeing a news report documenting a rise in sales of firearms after the San Bernarndino shooting. Many retailers have run out of stock such is the demand for guns and ammunition. It seems crazy in some ways, but there's a logic to it. I think there are now more guns than people in the US.
It's easy to preach from the UK, where there isn't a gun culture, and I often find the patronising guff spouted on here towards the US on this a little tiring as it often bypasses the fact America has a different historical narrative to the UK; it's not as simple as just saying 'why don't they stop selling guns?'
It's a major f*king problem though, one that's almost too far gone to deal with effectively. |  |
