I recall at the end of the season that Hilly pointed out he had a great working relationship with 'most' of the players. That makes it clear that some were either at odds with his methods or with him in particular.
Whether there has been a bit of ill-feeling, only they know, but I would hazard a guess that the offers made to both players were less than 'encouraging'.
Hilly can now claim that both have left for 'better money' (probably true) and we have freed up two wages to be able to look elsewhere.
I suspect there will be no regrets from anyone and there's no doubt the defence was a area that needed stregthening. We now have a perfect opportunity.
