If the Club can’t move them on in the summer, that would be a combined outlay of circa £10m over the course of the season and about a third of 1seasons parachute payment.

Sorry there is nothing good about this at all...as fans why are we concerned about getting money for players who can walk for free in the summer...we are not going to see it...all I care about is the product on the pitch!

And Ki, for all his dainty touches and decent pass completion stats, there's nothing really to his game. The OP states he can pick out a pass?! I saw he did that on Saturday but can't remember the last time he made a contribution to this effect in the EPL.
Flatters to deceive is one of the better compliments I could describe. And if he's off for nothing in the Summer this really is a no brainer.

My thoughts exactly. I would only make the swap if it were Ki + £13m or less for A Ayew.
I cannot imagine how it would make any sense to pay £18m + Ki (valued at £6.3m on Transfermarkt) for Ayew after we sold him for £20-21m and he has certainly lost value since then. Transfermarkt has him £16.2m.
That said, I wouldn’t put anything past our brilliant DoF.
On another note, assuming we put a sell on clause for A Ayew, do we get some of our own money back? | | | |

I can see your up early, so that's a good start. Now, what we need is 2 or 3 decent additions. Forget the £20M for Ayew and aim for 3 players at around £7M. Some creativity, some steel in the midfield and quality with pace at right back. Some cover at left back if you have spare change. | | | |

Agree it feels desperate now.
Smells like whatever plans we originally had were changed to try and get players that wanted game time ahead of the World Cup. At this stage it appears that plan has failed as Carlos is suggesting that our targets aren’t really interested in a relegation battle. If there is nothing else on the table there may be a last minute deal on for somebody but do we want/need someone whose heart isn’t in it?
Looks like we are back to our original recruitment plans which traditionally involves former players/players who have had a good game against us/players we have enquired after before. It’s now a sellers market. | | | |
