Glamorgan cricket 2019 thread 07:40 - Apr 11 with 31811 views | dickythorpe | First up Northants https://www.glamorgancricket.com/cricket/news/2019/april/trio-set-for-championsh I think we'll be more competitive this season but no doubt plenty of highs and lows (reminds me off another sporting side I follow) Excited about Billy Root and the timeless Hogan and Wagg will keep us going. Hopefully the new signings will add to our team and get us RUNS!!!! [Post edited 13 Apr 2019 9:14]

The wickets we prepare these days little wonder we're piling on the batting bonus points. Every home game has finished as a draw. The three victories have all come away. Our bowling bonus points are not very good because of this batsman orientated wicket preparation. Give our bowlers a chance, let's prepare "cricket wickets". No problems with playing staff these days, which is good, but I still think we ought to prepare more competitive wickets.

St. Helen’s was a great wicket - almost always gave the bowlers help on the last day, especially the spinners.

Dolly with Tom Graveney and Oli Milburn were my favourites as a youngster. Bret D'Oliveira is the one player stopping a Glam win at the moment. A ton batting @ No 9, and bowling leg spin he's got match figures of 53 overs 9/182. EDIT ... Glam v Worc Match drawn [Post edited 4 Jul 2019 17:24]

Loved watching Graveney. Pure class. Cowdrey once had a quiet word with Milburn suggesting he drank halves instead of pints. In the bar that night Cowdrey gets a round in - Colin? “Two halves, please Skip”.😂

They used to take spin first morning in St.Helens once. Now it's about right. Unfortunately we play on the 'feather bed' that's Sofia Gardens. Of course I speak from a bowlers point of view. The batsmen must be loving it.

😂😂 My father in law absolutely hated Colin Cowdrey ... All because of National Service. He got called up and did his time, and Cowdrey was sent home from the Royal Air Force after serving only 2 weeks, citing bad toes and unable to serve his country. My father in law always went off on one as soon as he spotted Cowdrey ... "He couldn't do his National Service because of his feet, yet he can play in a 5 day Test Match. Fvck Colin Cowdrey and Fvck the National Service ", 😂😂

We're top of the division and have the best batting points ...but in 9 matches that's only 28 points out of a possible 45. We're joint 4th in bowling points out of 10 teams ... 21 points out of 27. ( 25 points is top ) Plus this is the first match this season that we've had a first innings lead.

You watch the weather change now the T20 is on. Luckily Glammy are playing Thursday as originally it was a Friday fixture, the weather for Friday is poor.
