I think full back has been our weakest position apart from up top. For too long we’ve had fullbacks who can, at best, be described as adequate defensively (and that’s being kind to a lot of them) and below par (again, being kind) going forward. In today’s modern game that’s just not good enough. I’m beyond pleased to see such positive play from full back now and not surprised at all at the impact it’s having.
I said at the end of last season I’d like to see Manning retain his spot at left back as it was clear instantly the difference between him and Biswell. Never expected it to happen and I’m chuffed he’s made it his own. Agree he’ll be one to face some bids later this year. |  | | |
