Precise reason I despise English cricket.

I hope to f*ck he gets his ass handed to him out there while he’s out and about. Horrible piece of work.

Sledging Big Vern.

Not very subtle and not very bright in front of the stump mic.
I think Philander will be putting a few up Buttler’s nose at 90mph in the next test.

Philander has never bowled at 90 mph in his life & I can't believe how much stick Buttler is getting.
He's accepted the charge & that should be it - get over it.

The aussies can give it but cant take it.

I was at the 5th day of the OT ashes test in 2005, still p!ssed up from a wedding the night before, i started giving michael clarke and mike kasprowicz sh!t whilst they were in the nets, i was saying that they can give it but cant take it and they are going to get a fvcking hammering today.

Clarke saw the funny side and didnt bite but kasprowicz came upto the edge of the nets, we were nose to nose at the nets (hes 6' 6'' im 6' 4'') for a few secs, i reiterated to him that they can give it and cannot take it, he started giving me the usual feck off ya pommy b@stard, saying he was going to rip my head off, clarke and all my mates (yes i do have some) were p!ssing themselves, i had to feck off sharpish before getting turfed out but it was worth winding the big aussie tvvat up though.

Yeah, I know - it’s an expression...

Probably bend his back and get up to about 85mph for one or two - quick enough to “tickle him up” if it goes to the ribs.

You’ve got to remember that the OP was the guy who openly wanted NZ to win the CWC final.

Risca - you despise England cricket because of sledging? Does that mean that you despise all teams because there isn’t one team that doesn’t do it.

There's an Aussie in work with us who is unfúckingbelievable with his chopsing and banter.
I asked him about the bush fires......"We wanted the ashes too badly" he said

Fair enough!
Not exactly the athletic build for quick stuff but he's been a terrific bowler tbf, South Africa are going to miss him.

Nah I despise English cricket because they are a bunch of knobs on the whole.

I'm not the one who despises sledging, you only need to see the media when the Australians were giving them stick, "taking it too far" they said.

I've played sport all my life, including cricket, and realise there's banter and mind games, but there should also be a level of respect aswell, Vern was making his last test appearance at his home ground, all his family there, then you got a little posh english kid giving him the death stare, calling him a fat tw*t. He should have given him a clip, but then the tears would have came out like it did with Root.

Edit - I didn't just want England cricket to lose the world cup final, I want them to lose every game they play in, unfortunately though it doesn't happen as to their credit they have good players. Same goes for their rugby team. Not bothered about football.

It's about time England gave Ben Foakes the wicket keeper gloves back.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Sweeping generalisation at its best.

And a massive overraction again to what happened.

So let's say it is England v Australia. A bunch of knobs versus the biggest bunch of knobs ever to play cricket (a team that includes Warner who is the biggest knob of them all). Who do you want to win?

Part and parcel of the game, at all levels. I played until I was 57 and it was no worse when I finished to when I started. I remember when I was late forties batting with a six foot three sixteen year old at other end. "Easy two" he called. For him maybe, but not for me, I was run out by about eight yards. When I got back to the pavilion, I told one of the boys "The lanky barstewart run me out again" HE ran you out" he said "I've seen milk turn quicker". So sometimes you'd even get it from your own team mates as well. I gave a bit too mind.

I’d want Australia to muller them.

Warner will never have to buy a pint if he ever chooses to spend his evenings in sunny Risca in the future. Despite his horrendous performance in the Ashes, giving Root a tap on mush good enough for me.

I must admit to finding Risca’s irrational hatred of the England cricket team both inexplicable and hugely amusing.

The ethos of my club - play hard but with a smile on your face, buy your fûcking round and sledge your own teammates.

A perfect way to spend a Summer Sunday.
