Happy League 2020/21 Week 30 (of 34) - Deadline GOOD FRIDAY 2nd April 15.00 21:04 - Mar 27 with 1565 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 29 Results

BLACKPOOL 2 PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 2

Ex-U's Joe Edwards got a 91st minute equaliser for Plymouth, as Blackpool take their unbeaten league run to 11 games. Nobody got this spot-on, and only 2 had the outcome. 23 predicted a win for Blackpool.

BURTON ALBION v FLEETWOOD TOWN POSTPONED Due to International call-ups for Burton

PETERBOROUGH UNITED 7 ACCRINGTON STANLEY 0
Peterborough roared to their biggest win since 2007, as they humiliated Accrington, who suffered their heaviest defeat since returning to the Football League in 2006. With two goals today Sammy Szmodics has now scored 12 in the league this season. Everybody predicted a win for Peterborough, but obviously nobody had it spot-on. 12 predicted Peterborough to win 2-1, and they made it the weeks most predicted score.

CARLISLE UNITED 1 CAMBRIDGE UNITED 2
Cambridge get a 90th minute winner. Earlier Paul Mullin opened the scoring with his 25th league goal of the season, surpassing a 35-year club record set by David Crown for goals scored over a campaign. That late Cambridge winner was good news for the massive 11 who got this spot-on, and the other 9 who had the outcome.

LEYTON ORIENT 2 OLDHAM ATHLETIC 1
Leyton Orient recorded their third win in a row. A magnificent 7 had this spot-on, and a further 10 got the outcome.

MORECAMBE 1 CHELTENHAM TOWN 0
Liam McAlinden's first-half goal earned promotion-chasing Morecambe a vital three points with their only shot on target. 4 got this spot-on, and 4 also had the outcome.

The BBC website were slow to say the Burton v Fleetwood game was off due to International calls, so that left us with just the five fixtures, but they produced a better week than any six game one this season. In fact if it wasn't for the late Plymouth equaliser, it would have been even better. As it was we had a decent 22 spot-ons, and a full house of outcomes from Peterborough, to give most people a reasonable week. There were six members who got two 3 pointers. The best of which came from ghughes11 and durham_exile, who both had the wins for Cambridge and Morecambe, and with two outcomes each, they share the title of the weeks top scorer with a very decent 8 points. The other four all got a decent 7 points. They were mfb_cufc, noah4x4 and RSCOSWORTH who all had the 2-1 wins for Cambridge and Leyton Orient, and unitedwhites, who got the wins for Orient and Morecambe. Best of those to have one 3 pointer was thrillseeker, who got the Orient 2-1 and three outcomes to give him a solid 6 points.
Week 30 will now be an 11 game one to make up for the postponement in Week 29. DON'T FORGET WEEK 30 IS GOOD FRIDAY

In the Premier There are now just 47 games left to the season, and this division continues to be the most conpetitive it has ever been, with everything to play for thrioughout the league. At the top there is only one point separating the top three. It is basher2010 who continues to lead, but for the second week running it is only on the most 3 pointer rule, now from mfb_cufc, who moves up a place into second, with sevebalo a point back in the final Charity Shield spot. A good week for noah4x4 moves him closer to the top three, and every chance of a title hat-trick. The solid week for thrillseeker moves him up a place, and back into the top half. At the bottom, the good week for RSCOSWORTH moves him out of the relegation zone again, as he is replaced by TheFatGooner, who drops into the bottom three for the first time this season. But with only one point separating 7th to 10th, just like the top, this couldn't be any closer. Not the sort of week Tropical_Us was looking for, and time is running out for him to escape now.

In Division One The 4 points for concordman this week means he has now got more points this season than in any of the previous five since he joined the Happy League. With 47 games left to the season, it goes to show what a good one he is having. He had his lead cut by 3 points, but promotion remains his to lose. A good week for unitedwhites maintains him in the other automatic spot, but for the second week running it is only on the most 3 pointer rule, as the top scoring performance from ghughes11 moves him back up to third, in what was the only change in this league. Even though he dropped a place blueeagle is still well in contention for the automatics, and looking good for a play-off spot if that fails. The top scoring performance from durham_exile consolidated his play-off place, but I am sure he would gladly give 3 of those points to his beloved U's if he could. Having the Morecambe 1-0 spot-on kept burnsieespana in touch of the top six. The only other member to get a 3 pointer in this league was oxfcolu, who was another to benefit from the Cambridge 2-1.

THE TABLES (233 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
