Happy League 2021/22 Week 22 (of 38) - Deadline New Years Day 15.00 12:18 - Dec 27 with 1412 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 21 results

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 3 BLACKPOOL 2

Sorba Thomas scored two late goals as Huddersfield came from behind to beat 10-man Blackpool. Nobody got this spot-on, but 22 did have the outcome, with 15 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

HULL CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS POSTPONED Due to Hull players testing postive for the common cold Omicron

MIDDLESBROUGH 2 NOTTINGHAM FOREST 0
A freak own goal from Forest Ryan Yates set Middlesbrough on their way to a victory, as Forest fail to have a shot on target. Only Sector4 and noah4x4 had this spot-on, and a further 9 got the outcome.

PRESTON NORTH END v SHEFFIELD UNITED POSTPONED Due to Preston players testing positive for the common cold Omicron

AFC WIMBLEDON v CHARLTON ATHLETIC POSTPONED Due to Charlton players testing positive for the commmon cold Omicron

CHELTENHAM TOWN 0 PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 2
A goal in each half ensured Plymouth maintained their League One promotion push. Only noah4x4 and gerry_us got this spot-on, and another 14 had the outcome.

FLEETWOOD TOWN 0 SHREWSBURY TOWN 3
A comfortable first away win this season for Shrewsbury. Nobody had this spot-on, and just 3 got the outcome. 23 predicted a win for Fleetwood.

PORTSMOUTH v OXFORD UNITED POSTPONED Due to Portsmouth players testing positive for the common cold Omicron

COLCHESTER UNITED v LEYTON ORIENT POSTPONED Due to Colchester players testing positive for the common cold Omicron

OLDHAM ATHLETIC 1 SCUNTHORPE UNITED 3
Scunthorpe were another team to get a first away win, as substitute Ryan Loft scored twice as his side came from behind to defeat their League Two relegation rivals. Again nobody got this spot-on, and only 3 had the outcome. Interestingly 7 predicted this game to end as a bore draw.

Another set of fixtures decimated by Covid, but with only nine games surviving in the EFL, we were fortunate to have had five of them. But they produced some more unpredictable results, and we only got four 3 pointers from those games, thanks to the 2-0 wins for Middlesbrough and Plymouth. By getting those wins spot-on, the "sinking ship" noah4x4 showed he is rising again, and by also having one outcome, he is the weeks top scorer, with a decent 7 points. Week 22 should have been a guest pick 10 one, but with so many games being postponed due to Covid, and the future not looking good, the guest pick weeks will be suspeded until further notice.

Champions League Week 22 should be the last week of qualification for this seasons competetion, and the planned 15 fixtures will give us the required 160 games, but as wessex_exile has explained on the U'sual Champions League qualification thread, if the requiste 160 games for qualification are not met, then qualification will be decided after Week 23. The member currently in the eleventh and final qualification place is still Daniel wiith his 79 points.

Happy Midweek League Cup A final reminder that the next round of games take place this Wednesday 29th December. Or the fixtures that are left anyhow.

In the Premier League On another low scoring week, RSCOSWORTH had no problem extending his run at the top to 18 weeks. Two outcomes for him, and also for TheFatGooner, who took his spell of being second to 5 weeks. Three outcomes for Daniel were enough for him to remain third. The only change in this division has mfb_cufc moving back up a couple of places into the final Super Cup place. After being 9 points from safety last week, and looking in trouble, noah4x4 showed what one decent week can do, and that deficit is now a more manageable 4 points.

In Division One With gerry_us being the only one to get a 3 pointer in this league, it was all about the outcomes to improve your position. The top two Pinault_Noir and blueeagle did exactly that, by creating a 4 point gap back to the pursuers. Just like the Premier there was only one change in this league, with oxfcolu moving up a place, after getting four outcomes.

THE TABLES (145 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)

Week 22 Fixtures This is now a 15 game week to make up for the postponed games in Week 21.
