Week 35 results

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION 0 NORWICH CITY 0

Neal Maupay's missed penalty means Brighton remain goalless at home since mid-January, despite having 31 shots, though this bore draw did end a run of six straight league defeats. Nobody got this spot-on, and only BFG had the outcome. 26 predicted a win for Brighton, with 14 going for a 2-0 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 2 ASTON VILLA 1
Wolves boosted their hopes of playing in Europe next season as they moved up to seventh in the Premier League after this victory. A sublime 5 had this spot-on, and a further 9 got the outcome by all going for a 1-0.

AFC BOURNEMOUTH 3 BRISTOL CITY 2
Bournemouth came from a goal down to keep on track for promotion from the Championship. Everyone predicted a win for Bournemouth, but nobody got it spot-on.

QUEENS PARK RANGERS 0 FULHAM 2
Two goals from the Championship's top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic, to give him 37 in the league this season, were enough for league leaders Fulham to see off their London rivals. 6 had this spot-on, and another 16 got the outcome.

IPSWICH TOWN 0 CAMBRIDGE UNITED 1
Cambridge severely dented Ipswich's bid to progress towards a top-six place, after this unexpected victory ended their eleven match unbeaten run. Only ghughes11 and Madiera163 got this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome. 24 predicted a win for Ipswich.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 2 AFC WIMBLEDON 1
Lee Gregory scored in the 92nd minute to give Wednesday a dramatic victory, as Wimbledon are still without a win in 2022. That late goal was good news for the 3 who had this spot-on, and the 24 who got the outcome.

WYCOMBE WANDERERS 2 DONCASTER ROVERS 0
Wycombe beat relegation-threatened Doncaster to move to the cusp of the League One play-off places. A massive 11 got this spot-on, and a further 14 had the outcome.

FOREST GREEN ROVERS 1 SCUNTHORPE UNITED 0
Dan Sweeney's second-half header earned League Two leaders Forest Green a narrow win over their National League bound opponents. Well done to MrHappy2 for being the only one to have this spot-on, and another 26 got the outcome.

HARTLEPOOL UNITED 0 SALFORD CITY 2
Salford kept themselves firmly in the play-off picture with a comprehensive win, to take their unbeaten run to ten games, as Hartlepool fail to have a shot on target. Nobody got this spot-on, though 8 did have the outcome.

TRANMERE ROVERS 2 CARLISLE UNITED 2
Carlisle substitute Tobi Sho-Silva got a 97th minute equaliser, to secure a point against 9-man Tranmere. Another game with no 3 pointer, but 4 did get the outcome. 20 predicted a win for Tranmere.

Considering this was the best 10 game week of the season so far, it wasn't a great one for 3 pointers, other than the 11 from the Wycombe 2-0. It was a the 130 total outcomes, helped by the weeks "good things", that made the difference. With four games failing to have a 3 pointer, and two others only having three between them, six members did well to have two 3 pointers, with the best performances coming from TheFatGooner, who had the 2-0 wins for Fulham and Wycombe, and concordman, who got the wins for Wednesday and Wycombe. They both also had five outcomes to give them an excellent 11 points. But it was only enough to give them a three way tie in being the weeks top scorer, as that excellent score was also matched by BFG, who was best of those who had one 3 pointer. He got the Fulham 2-0, and a mighty impressive eight outcomes. It was only the Ipswich game that stopped him getting what would have been a unique full house for a 10 game week.

In the Premier With the top two both getting an excellent 11 points, it means TheFatGooner maintains his 2 point lead over concordman. Even though there is no change, what has been established it is now odds on the title will be going to one of them. Another decent week for third placed RSCOSWORTH, that included having the Wednesday 2-1 spot-on, just about gives him a slight chance of a first title, but a Super Cup place will give him his best chance. That final qualifying place is still held by ghughes11, helped by his hate of Ipswich, to give him that Cambridge 1-0 spot-on. As for the rest of the division, it is a case of little change, that has been the norm for a number of weeks. The only change had noah4x4 moving up another place, as he eases further away from the bottom three. Even though the bottom three remained the same for the eighth week running, a seasons best 9 points for sevebalo, who had the wins for Wolves and Fulham spot-on, will give hope that he can escape. A decent 9 points also for Blue4U2, but with only 26 games left to the season, he is all but down.

In Division One The Premier has only had three changes to the lead all season, but in complete contrast, the top scoring performance from BFG made him the 17th change to the lead there has been in this league. A first time at the top for him, and a great effort, as he was only ninth six weeks ago. Last weeks leader thrillseeker has to settle for the other automatic spot, but only on the most 3 pointer rule from blueeagle, who returned to form by getting the wins for Wolves and Wycombe spot-on. Back up a place to fourth is Tropical_Us, who was another to benefit from having the Wolves 2-1 spot-on. Up a couple of places into fifth and back into the play-offs after a week away, is wessex_exile, as he also had the wins for Wolves and Wycombe spot-on. In the final play-off place is burnsieespana, who had the Wycombe 2-0 spot-on, to still give him more 3 pointers than anybody in both divisions. Dropping out of the top six for the first time in 25 weeks is Lewis_1, but he remains very much in contention. Another decent week for bwildered, as he continues to have a good second-half to the season, that augurs well for next season. The final member to get two 3 pointers was Madiera163, who had the win for Wednesday to go with his good Cambridge 1-0 prediction, to give him a seasons best very decent 10 points.

THE TABLES (254 out of 280 played)
