Week 8 results

BURNLEY 2 BRISTOL CITY 1

Jay Rodriguez scored a second-half winner as Burnley made it seven Championship games unbeaten. A massive 11 got this spot-on, in what was equally the weeks most predicted score, and a further 10 had the outcome.

PRESTON NORTH END 0 SHEFFIELD UNITED 2
Sheffield United extended their lead at the top of the Championship to three points with a routine win. A sublime 5 had this spot-on, and another 15 got the outcome.

BRISTOL ROVERS 3 LINCOLN CITY 6
On loan Sunderland winger Jack Diamond struck a hat-trick as Lincoln cruised to a crushing win, to put Rovers into the League 1 relegation zone. Not surprisingly no 3 pointer here, but 4 did have the outcome.

EXETER CITY 0 BURTON ALBION 2
Burton picked up their first win of the League One season with a richly deserved success, against a badly out-of-sorts Exeter. Nobody had this spot-on, and only Pinault_Noir got the outcome. 25 predicted a win for Exeter.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 2 IPSWICH TOWN 2
Michael Smith got an 89th minute equaliser as Wednesday came from two goals down to secure a draw with League One leaders Ipswich. Nobody got this spot-on, but 5 did have the outcome.

CREWE ALEXANDRA 1 CRAWLEY TOWN 0
Courtney Baker-Richardson secured Crewe a first win in five League Two games, with his fifth league goal of the campaign. A great 8 had this spot-on, and a further 15 got the outcome.

SALFORD CITY 0 TRANMERE ROVERS 1
Josh Hawkes' first-half strike earned Tranmere a first away win this season, as Salford fail to have a shot on target, and lose their unbeaten home record. Another game with no 3 pointer, though 3 did have the outcome. The other 25 predicted a win for Salford with 11 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks other most predicted score.

STOCKPORT COUNTY 0 HARROGATE TOWN 0
Harrogate halted a run of four straight defeats with this gutsy bore draw. Well done to the 3 who had this spot-on, and 2 more got the outcome. 20 predicted a win for Stockport.

This was a week when a number of home teams looked good to add to the already impressive 50% of games this season, but only Burnley and Crewe added to the total, as Exeter, Salford and Stockport failed to deliver. Despite 4 games failing to have a 3 pointer, the other 4 made up for it by producing a decent 27 between them. It was a great effort from noah4x4 in being the only one to have three 3 pointers, the wins for Burnley, Sheff Utd and Crewe, to make him the weeks top scorer with an excellent 9 points. There were four members who had two 3 pointers, the best of which was concordman, who had the wins for Burnley and Crewe, and two outcomes, to give him a very decent 8 points. Also getting the wins for Burnley and Crewe were ghughes11 and Madeira163, who both got one outcome to give them a decent 7 points. Finally BFG, who had the wins for Sheff Utd and Crewe, to give him a solid 6 points.

Midweek League Cup The latest table can be seen on the 24th post of the Week 3 thread. A full update, with the Week 4 fixtures, will appear later this week.

In the Premier Four outcomes were just enough for mfb_cufc to maintain his lead, but only by a solitary point from three members, who are being split by the most 3 pointer rule. Coming out best of those is ghughes11, who regains the second spot. Up three places into third is noah4x4 after his top scoring perfomance. Despite dropping two places to fourth, thrillseeker actually moved a point nearer the top. A fourth week without a 3 pointer, means wessex_exile also drops two places to fifth. By doubling his 3 pointer total for the season, current champ concordman moved up a place. After only being in the bottom three on the first to post rule, RSCOSWORTH posted first himself this week, and that allowed him to swap the roles with unitedwhites, as they both remain on the same number of points. Amazingly for the fourth week running, blueeagle remains a point behind them. A fifth week without a 3 pointer has left Sector4 a bit detached at the bottom.

In Division One After having his run at the top derailed on the most 3 pointer rule, GOSBTS has regained top spot again, thanks to getting the Crewe 1-0 spot-on. Former leader Pinault_Noir has to settle for the other automatic spot, after getting three outcomes. The same number of outcomes for sevebalo, means he remains third on the most 3 pointer rule. After having the Sheff Utd 2-0 spot-on, oxfcolu moves up a couple of places to fourth. After going 2-1 all games, burnsieespana remains fifth. Despite dropping two places, bwildered occupies the final play-off place. The biggest upward moves in this league came from Madeira163 and BFG, who both moved up three places.

THE TABLES (48 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
