Week 28 results

EVERTON 1 ARSENAL 0

Everton get ttheir first victory in eleven games in all competitions, as they stun the Premier League leaders. With everybody predicting a win for Arsenal, no points for anybody from this game.

NORWICH CITY 0 BURNLEY 3
Leaders Burnley once again showed their title credentials with a ninth successive Championship win. Nobody had this spot-on, but 7 did get the outcome.

ROTHERHAM UNITED 0 SHEFFIELD UNITED 0
Promotion-chasing Sheffield United lost ground on Championship leaders Burnley, after this bore draw. Well done to oxfcolu for being the only one to get this spot-on, and just gerry_us and Blue4U2 had the outcome. The other 22 predicted a win for United.

LUTON TOWN 1 STOKE CITY 0
Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu's first goal in almost 18 months wins it for Luton, to give them their sixth victory in seven league games. A great 8 had this spot-on, and a further 9 got the outcome.

MILLWALL 1 SUNDERLAND 1
A late Sunderland equaliser, with their only shot on target, took their unbeaten away run to nine games. A magnificent 7 got this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome.

DERBY COUNTY 5 MORECAMBE 0
David McGoldrick scored his third hat-trick of the season in this thrashing, as Derby took their unbeaten league run to fifteen. Everyone predicted a win for Derby, but nobody got it spot-on.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 1 PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 0
Sheffield Wednesday moved to the top of League One after beating leaders Plymouth, thanks to a goal from Callum Paterson. Only mfb_cufc got this spot-on, and another 14 had the outcome, with 12 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

COLCHESTER UNITED 1 BARROW 1
Kwesi Appiah got a 96th minute equaliser to salvage a point for Colchester, after John Akinde had a penalty saved earlier. Only 2 had this spot-on, and 3 more got the outcome. 19 predicted a win for Colchester.

LEYTON ORIENT 1 AFC WIMBLEDON 0
Ex U's George Moncur scored the winner, as Orient got only their second goal in their last eight games. A great 8 got this spot-on, and a further 15 had the outcome.

SUTTON UNITED 0 STEVENAGE 0
Stevenage extended their unbeaten league run to twelve games after this bore draw. Well done to GOSBTS for being the only one to have this spot-on, and only thrillseeker got the outcome. 21 predicted a win for Stevenage.

This was a week when goals were at a premium, beside the big wins for Burnley and Derby, no team scored more than one goal in the other eight matches. After a poor start to the week with the eatrly kick-offs, things picked up with the later fixtures, and the lack of goals lead to six games finishing with the seasons top two results of 1-1 and 1-0. That helped to give us a good total of 28 spot-ons overall. Six members did well to have two 3 pointers, with the top performance coming from Sector4, who had the 1-1 draws at Millwall and Colchester, and four outcomes, to give him an excellent 10 points. Just missing out on being the weeks top scorer was mfb_cufc, who got the 1-0 wins for Wednesday and Orient, and three outcomes, to give him a useful 9 points. The other four all got a decent 8 points, they were noah4x4 and ghughes11, who both had the 1-0 wins for Luton and Orient, Daniel, who got the Luton 1-0 and the Millwall 1-1, and finally GOSBTS, who had the draws at Millwall and Sutton. Best of those to get one 3 pointer were wessex_exile and Lewis_1, who both had the Millwall 1-1 and an impressive five outcomes, to also give them a decent 8 points. In what was an unprecedented week, only three members failed to get a 3 pointer.

Midweek League Cup The fixtures for the Quarter-finals are now ready for predicting, with the deadline Tuesday 14th February 19.45.

In the Premier Another good week for mfb_cufc has stretched his lead to 16 points from thrillseeker, who remains second after a solid week. The decent week for noah4x4 moved him up a place to third. The Super Cup places are completed by RSCOSWORTH, with a solid week. The decent week for ghughes11 moved him up a couple of places, and back into contention for a top four finish. The only other upward move came from blueeagle, who went up a place. The top scoring performance from Sector4 eased his relegation fears. But it was needed, as the decent weeks for wessex_exile and Daniel will give them hope of surviving.

In Division One This league continues to be as close as possible, with still only a point separating the top four, but we have a new leader. After only getting one 3 pointer in the last six weeks, GOSBTS looked like all his good early season form was going to waste, but his return to form, that included having one of his trademark bore draws spot-on, has moved him up three places, and bounced back to the top again. It is only on the most 3 pointer rule from Lewis_1 though, as his decent week also moved him up three places into that other automatic spot. This means last weeks top three Moor_Pinot, Madeira163 and bwilded all drop two places, to occupy the next three places. For the third week running it is MrHappy2 in the final play-off place. Just a point within the top six is oxfcolu, as he moved up a place to seventh. The only other upward move in this league came from basher2010, who moved up a couple of places to twelfth. The highest he has been since Week 18.

THE TABLES (204 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
