Happy League 2022/23 Week 34 (of 38) - Deadline Saturday 18th March 15.00 21:57 - Mar 11 with 1991 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 33 results

EVERTON 1 BRENTFORD 0

Dwight McNeil's goal after 35 seconds earned Everton a priceless victory and moved them out of the Premier League relegation places, as they bring an end to Brentford's 12-match unbeaten run. 3 got this spot-on, and 3 also had the outcome. There were 11 who predicted this game to end 1-1, in what was the weeks most predicted score.

LEICESTER CITY 1 CHELSEA 3
Chelsea's mini-revival continued with a third victory in a row as they consigned struggling Leicester to a fifth consecutive defeat. Nobody had this spot-on, but 16 did get the outcome.

READING 0 MILLWALL 1
Andreas Voglsammer converted from the penalty spot to help move Millwall back into the play-off places, with their only shot on target, as Reading only have 2 shots with none on target. A magnificent 7 got this spot-on, and a further 9 had the outcome.

PORTSMOUTH 0 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 1
10-man Sheffield Wednesday extended their club-record unbeaten run to 22 league games with a scrappy win. A magnificent 7 had this spot-on, and another 13 got the outcome.

BARROW 0 SUTTON UNITED 0
Promotion hopefuls Barrow and Sutton shared the points in a dour bore draw, where the hosts have the games only shot on target, and the visitors take their unbeaten run to nine games. 3 got this spot=on, and 4 more had the outcome.

SWINDON TOWN 1 CARLISLE UNITED 2
Ryan Edmondson scored a 96th minute winner for Carlisle, to give them a fourth straight victory, and bolster their automatic promotion hopes in League Two. That late winner was good news for the 5 who had this spot-on, and the further 7 got the outcome.

For the second week running a six game week produced some decent points, despite there being a lack of goals overall. There may have been a shortage of goals, but with three games being settled by the only goal, those 1-0 wins, especially for Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday, helped give us a decent 25 spot-ons in total. The honour of being the weeks top scorer was the most competitive one of the season so far, with nine members all having two 3 pointers. It was the two members, who also had three outcomes, who won the day, with an excellent 9 points each. They were Blue4U2 who got the wins for Millwall and Carlisle, and BFG, who had the 1-0 wins for Everton and Sheff Wed. It was only failing to get the Barrow result that stopped both from having a full house. Just missing out with a decent 8 points were RSCOSWORTH, who had the wins for Sheff Wed and Carlisle, and Daniel who got Sheff Wed 1-0 and the Barrow 0-0. The other five all got a decent 7 points, they were thrillseeker and ghughes11, who both had the 1-0 wins for Millwall and Sheff Wed, mfb_cufc who got the 1-0 wins for Everton and Sheff Wed, GOSBTS, who had the Millwall 1-0 and the Barrow 0-0, and finally basher2010, who got the 1-0 wins for Everton and Millwall.

Midweek League Cup A reminder the Semi-finals take place this Tuesday 14th March, with the deadline 19.45.

In the Premier For the second week running there is no change, with the top two both getting a decent 7 points. That means mfb_cufc maintains a 15 point lead over thrillseeker. Though he had 1-1 for the Swindon game, and the deficit could have been reduced by 3 points, if Carlisle hadn't got a last minute winner. By getting that 2-1 win for Carlisle spot-on, noah4x4 remains third, and just about stays in contention for a third title. The decent week for RSCOSWORTH improved his chances of staying in the top four, but a first title may have to wait for another season A solid week for concordman, that included having the Carlisle 2-1 spot-on, keeps alive his chances of making the Super Cup. The decent week for ghughes11 moved him up a couple of places, and back into the top half, after three weeks away. At the bottom, Daniel got the decent week he required if he is going to escape the drop.
Only three outcomes for wessex_exile, has made it difficult for him, with only 42 games left to the season.

In Division One Two outcomes for Moor_Pinot were enough for him to remain top for the fourth week running. After he said "I'm at risk of seriously messing this up!", GOSBTS produces a decent week, to keep him in the other automatic spot for the fouth week running. A solid week for bwildered, that included having the Millwall 1-0 spot-on, keeps him third, just a point behind. Having the Sheff Wed 1-0 spot-on keeps Madeira163 in fourth. Two outcomes for oxfcolu were enough for him to remain fifth. After waiting patiently, four outcomes for burnsieespana finally got him back into the play-offs, after being 7th or 8th for the last 13 weeks. Two outcomes for Lewis_1, means he drops out of the play-off places, after spending the last seven weeks in them. Three outcomes for MrHappy2 keeps him eighth. A 3 pointer each for Tropical_Us, the Millwall 1-0, and gerry_us, the Barrow 0-0, keeps both of them in contention for the play-offs. Those near the bottom of this league deservedly get a mention, as this is where the weeks top performances came. The top scoring one from Blue4U2 has vitually made sue he wont be getting the wooden spoon, and the weeks other top scorer BFG improved his chances of avoiding it.

THE TABLES (238 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
