Tigers at Layer Road 21:11 - Sep 23 with 46595 views | SparkfilmsTV | In a strange twist of events l found myself in conversation with a young lady who had attended Layer Road for a match against Hull City in our first season in The Championship. The 5-1 encounter. We were attending a promo evening for a band called The Datsuns in North London in 2008. During the evening she explained that she had been present at a party that made the national news due to the tragic death of someone by the name of Mark Blanco. The incident occurred in December 2006. This incident will be shown on Channel 4 on Monday night at 22.00 in an hour long documentary and several people known to me have made contributions. It may be of interest to some. I am very much hoping that the police will reinvestigate the death of Mark Blanco as a result of what will be included in the content. I know that what l was told by this young lady 15 years ago has been instrumental in the making of this documentary.

Things that may seem insignificant at the time Can become a catalyst for something far bigger Than either of us could possibly imagine Your hair is tied back And l ask you to let it down I put on 'Lovers in the rain' by The Open Pulled you in, whispering nothing much Something about your eyes l think Who knows? Tigers at Layer Road on 20:53 - Feb 16 with 2401 views | SparkfilmsTV | An explanation to some of these exerts from IPSWICH ZERO 6. The material was written during 2005 / 2006. You may have noticed references to The University of Lincoln and Nottingham Trent University along the way. When 'BLUEPRINT FOR LIFE' was released in 2004 l put my email address at the back of the book. It was really interesting to get feedback from people. This enabled me to discover who the work might have appealed to ( if anyone ). The book was distributed all over the UK into all major cities and most major towns. I was contacted by a design company in Sheffield - WIG - 01 who were planning a global release of a book to include poetic work from across the world and they had chosen seven pieces from BLUEPRINT. 'GRAPHIC POETRY' was the result and it was a major production appearing in hardback with a slip case cover. The book was published and produced by VICTIONARY in Hong Kong and the graphics and illustrations were by design companies from all over the world. The written words likewise ( but by poetical types ). There was considerable media coverage on release. WIG -01 then asked me if l had any work in progress / pending that they could put into design courses for illustration and graphics / video at universities and art schools in the UK. I sent them about 40 new pieces ( many featured on this thread ). I visited The University of Lincoln a few months later to see the results. They were stunning! God only knows what some of the students made of it at first sight, but they produced some incredible work. Everything in IPSWICH ZERO 6 was written from personal experience. I explained this to the UK Film Council ( as they were known at the time ) and l'm not sure if l convinced them if this stuff really happened. Having access to buildings, caravans, portacabins, warehouses, underground bunkers, farm buildings and the like was an unusual UK holiday. Suffice to say that we didn't always have keys or permission to inhabit these dwellings. I should have filmed it at the time ( in the way Shane Meadows would have sussed? ) though l can't recall if camera phones were capable then. It may be a relief to some that l will only be posting a few more of these pieces on here over the next few days. Likely people deserve a rest from it. [Post edited 16 Feb 20:56]

Tigers at Layer Road on 20:54 - Feb 17 with 2347 views | SparkfilmsTV | I think the process of sifting through piles of written works by Peter Doherty prompted me to delve back into some of my own releases and overload this thread with examples. I hadn't opened Ipswich ZERO 6 in at least ten years and it's been quite a journey reading through some of it. Almost forgot that l wrote a stage play / soundscape draft for it which on scanning today l feel compelled to revisit. Overnight l received another large quantity of letters addressed to Peter and they are a very interesting record of events. Being handwritten ( not the usual mode of communication in the new millennium ) they are quite 'graphic' in their own way and may lend themselves for inclusion in book form. Someone asked about FINAL ELIMINATOR from Ipswich ZERO 6. It is not about Kate Moss specifically but it is about that scene.

Am l scum? Cry for me Someone A little more clarity on what IPSWICH ZERO 6 consisted of. Section 1 - Mediascape A rapidly written journal about working for Sky News on The Suffolk Serial Murders. Sky News kindly gave me copies of all the pieces of film we made and gave me permission to use screen grabs in the book. Section 2 - Voices Transcripted interviews with 'working girls' recorded at various locations. Section 3 - Soundscape An idea for a possible stage production with narration and recorded street sounds with footage from our film archive that could be used as a backdrop. Section 4 - Poetics About 40 pieces written as the words entered my head and virtually unedited to keep them raw. Section 5 - Filmscape A draft filmscript that was presented to The UK Film Council. They considered a dark British made film to be unlikely to recoup the required revenue at box office, but it was a close call being voted 2 for and 3 against. Things could be different now. Section 6 - Reflections Included in this section is a reference to the death of 'Dirty Blonde at the Cash Machine'. I possess a copy of her death certificate. Hope this clarifies what the project entailed. Thanks due to anyone following this, it can't be an easy read. [Post edited 18 Feb 20:53]

I don't often revisit my books, once they are out there. I wouldn't have written IPSWICH ZERO 6 had it not have been for a certain individual over there in Northern Ireland who was quite emphatic that l should 'get it out there'. While flicking through the pages of the book over the past few days l can confirm that an entire chunk of it is upside down! I'm not sure how many copies went out like that but no one has complained, and if they know how l work they probably think it was deliberate. Having had a very close run with death a year ago this Forum allows the opportunity to share some of the work output over the past 25 years. I give complimentary copies of my work to anyone who shows an interest. Should be back in action after 10am. 🦮🦮
