Happy League 2023/24 Week 10 (of 38) - Deadline Saturday 7th October 12.30 21:53 - Sep 30 with 2632 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 9 results

WEST HAM UNITED 2 SHEFFIELD UNITED 0

West Ham marked David Moyes' 900th league game as a manager by heaping more pain on struggling United. A great 8 got this spot-on, and a further 16 had the outcome.

HULL CITY 1 PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 1
Liam Rosenior has made Hull a hard team to beat so far this season, with this result taking them to eight matches without a loss, but it was also their fourth consecutive home draw. Only 2 had this spot-on, and 2 also got the outcome. 18 predicted a win for Hull with 13 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

QUEENS PARK RANGERS 1 COVENTRY CITY 3
Ellis Simms scored his first Coventry goals to help his side to victory over QPR, who have now gone nine home games without a win, Nobody got this spot-on, but 7 did have the outcome.

LINCOLN CITY 2 CHELTENHAM TOWN 0
A first-half double from Lasse Sorensen sealed a comfortable victory for Lincoln over a Cheltenham side still looking for their first league goal of the season. A massive 9 had this spot-on, and another 12 got the outcome.

SHREWSBURY TOWN 0 CHARLTON ATHLETIC 0
Shrewsbury failed to register a single goal in September as Charlton keeper Harry Isted kept them at bay in this bore draw. Again nobody got this spot-on, though 7 did get the outcome.

CRAWLEY TOWN 3 SUTTON UNITED 0
Relegation favourites Crawley continued their dream start to the campaign with a fourth straight victory over rock-bottom Sutton. Only 2 had this spot-on, and a further 22 got the outcome.

After the excitement at the JobServe Community Stadium today, this weeks Happy League results were never going to live up to that, but it did produce the best six game week of the season so far, in number of 3 pointers, and total points. This was mainly due to the weeks "good things" West Ham, Lincoln and Crawley all winning. By getting all those three wins spot-on, and the Coventry outcome, TheRams is the weeks top scorer with a brilliant 10 points. Three members did well to have two 3 pointers, with the best coming from wessex_exile, who got the wins for West Ham and Crawley, and ghughes11, who had the wins for West Ham and Lincoln. They each also got two outcomes, to give them both an excellent 8 points. Those 2-0 wins for West Ham and Lincoln also for RSCOSWORTH, and the Crawley outcome, to give him a decent 7 points. Best of those to have one 3 pointer was durham_exile, the West ham 2-0, and four outcomes, to give him a decent 7 points. After the slow start to the season for the 1-1, that failed to have that result for the first five weeks. The eight in the last four weeks, has now made that score the top one for the season, tied with the 0-1.

In the Premier A solid 6 points, that included getting the Lincoln 2-0 spot-on, keeps concordman in pole position for eighth week running. His lead was reduced by two points after the excellent week from ghughes11, who remains second for the fifth week in a row. The decent week for RSCOSWORTH moved him up another place to a season high third. Despite having the Lincoln 2-0 spot-on, thrillseeker drops to a season low fourth. Getting the Hull 1-1 spot-on helped unitedwhites moved up a place to fifth. Three outcomes could not stop noah4x4 dropping a place to sixth. After getting the West Ham 2-0 spot-on, blueeagle and Moor_Pinot both moved up a place. Having the Lincoln 2-0 spot-on moved oxfcolu up a couple of places, and out of the bottom three. Four outcomes were not enough to get mfb_cufc out of the relegation zone. Unfortanate missed weeks for Sector4 and GOSBTS, means they occupy the bottom two places.

In Division One In the early weeks of the season wessex_exile was the same number of points from the top as he was to the bottom. Ever since then he has not looked back, and it has accumulated in him rising to the top this week, after another excellent score. Three outcomes for Daniel were not quite enough for him to remain top, but he is still a clear second. After having the Lincoln 2-0 spot-on Tropical_Us moved a place to a season high third. Three outcomes for Colukev could not stop him dropping to fourth. After not joining the Happy League until Week 2, TheRams has been playing catch-up, to the extent he has always been in the bottom three. But his top scoring performance this week has taken him up an incredible nine places to fifth. In the final play-off spot is bwildered, as he moved up a place, to a season high sixth, after having the Lincoln 2-0 spot-on. Just losing out on the most 3 pointer rule is BFG, with his three outcomes. He in turn is just a point ahead of basher2010, who got the West ham 2-0 spot-on, and Lewis_1, who had the Hull 1-1 spot-on. Three outcomes could not stop Madeira163 slipping down three places. The last one this week to get the Lincoln 2-0 spot-on was Jorash63, and he moved up a place. Three outcomes were not enough to stop gerry_us dropping two places. If TheRams found that magic ladder to help him climb the table, then burnsieespana has found himself a snake, that has seen him slither from third after Week 3, to a fourteenth place this week. A decent week for durham_exile has given him hope he can follow his beloved U's by moving up the league.

THE TABLES (62 out of 280 played)
