He loved talking about his career and chuckled when Foreman, when asked, was asked who was the hardest puncher he faced , replied Ron Lyle butvtherexshaon I didn't fight Earnie Shavers, thank goodness
Had five sons and named them all George as they'd always have something in common

Earnie was a hell of a puncher and more than a decent fighter who caused loads of other decent fighters problems, he was a must watch when he was active.
