Not sure where BBC got those numbers from. Maybe they are from when Pat Nevin still played, because they are not the numbers from last season like claimed.

Premier League Handbook 2012/13: http://www.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publica

Aston Villa and Manchester United has the exact same standard Premier League pitch dimensions both last season and this season:
Length: 105 metres, Width: 68 metres

The differences in pitch dimensions are smaller than BBC claims in this clip.

Pitches in square yards:
Aston Villa, Manchester United etc. [105 × 68 m]: 8,539
Tottenham Hotspur [100 × 67 m]: 8,013
Stoke City and Crystal Palace [100 × 66 m]: 7,894
Fulham [100 × 65 m]: 7,774

105 × 68 m has been the standard pitch dimensions for UEFA games for some years and before last season Premier League introduced the same standard pitch dimensions: http://angryofislington.com/2012/09/01/new-premier-league-pitch-dimensions-rules

They never allow bigger pitches and only give dispensation for smaller pitches on already built stadiums where there's not enough room for a 105 × 68 m pitch.

This season's Premier League pitch dimensions:

Premier League Handbook 2012/13: http://www.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publica
