Some Col U top loan signings since 2009 on 22:25 - Apr 6 with 1597 views | mfb_cufc | Bongani Khumalo was the ice cool centre-back who had been injured for a long time at Spurs. We took a chance on him, and he did a lot to save us from relegation that season. IMO Michail Antonio was the best loan signing we ever made, even though we only had him for three months. He had strength and pace that League 1 players couldn't deal with, and it is no surprise to me he has ended up being a good Premier League player.

Mick I am seriously embarrassed. Thank you for identifying the matches. To my chagrin I went to the Port Vale game a 2-1 win I also went to the Coventry game a 1-0 defeat and I went to the Fleetwood game a 3-2 win with a Porter pen on 87 mins to win the game. The Preston game I watched on TV. I really cannot recall him I put it down to old age!!!!! Thanks again for your research. Up the U's

Some Col U top loan signings since 2009 on 16:53 - Apr 7 with 1544 views | noah4x4 | He didn't make any mistakes in a team that was pretty average The rest were hence the principle talking points in the pub, so I reckon that's how he slipped under your radar Durham! Not a loan signing, but a similar quality centre back to Khumalo that featured only seven times in the same season was Kaspar Gorkss. Latvian International, captain of his national team, and after retirement served as President of the Latvian Football Federation. Played 50x for Blackpool, 114x for QPR, 15 x on loan for Wolves. Signed a one month contract with CUFC in December, 2014. Signed an extension on 10 January. Scored if I recall correctly our only headed goal that season on 24 January in vital relegation battle against Orient, then vanished and signed an 18 month contract with Greek super league club Ergolis. He was replaced six weeks later by loan signing Khumalo. Just imagine had we kept Khumalo and Gorkss! Wasn't Magnus long term injured around that time?

Good point regarding Gorkss. He became a fans favourite in the short time he was with us, and hoped we could sign him permanently, so it was disappointing he went to Greece. Magnus suffered an achilles tendon rupture in the game against Coventry on 22nd November, and was ruled out for the season. In fact it was his last game for the U's as his contract was not renewed at the end of the season.
