Hopefully by then we'll have some of our experienced players back - by god we seriously need them. On another note 4 other Essex sides could be in the 1st round if they win their replays - Aveley, Braintree Town, Billericay Town and our old friends Chelmsford City. If they don't we'll be the sole Essex side in the 1st round.

We're unlikely to win that unless there's a massive change - esp in results.
Saying that no one fancied us in 1988-89 when we thumped them 3-0 away. We also beat them in 2005-06 but we were a much better side at the time - in fact polar opposite to now. [Post edited 15 Oct 2023 14:56]

Providing Lawrence, Kells and Edwards are fit and playing we have a chance.
The New Meadow was built by the same company that built the JCS and is almost identical.
Some years ago we famously defeated Shrewsbury 3-0 in the FA Cup at the Gay Meadow. A repeat would be nice!
Perhaps a nice diversion from the disasters of the League.
Thinking about yesterday it really is not good enough and we simply have to turn things around.
It is embarrassing frankly.

Went to the '88 / '89 tie at Shrewsbury.
