Noah I fear you are right about the Number 9.
I hope though that Colchester do fill both the 9 and the 2 numbered Shirts soon. Junior should have been given the Number 2 perhaps.
I have also been thinking about WB starting XI for the Northampton game and offer the following 18 squad members at Sixfields
Possible starting XI - 4,4,2

George, Dallison, Coxe, Marshall Miranda, Nouble, Cooper, Judge
Tom Eastman should play in the squad if Dallison is unfit.
Incidentally there are two youngsters that I hope will get serious game minutes this season - Ryan Lowe and Frankie Terry both were outstanding in the Youth Cup at Newcastle last season.

The players get to choose their own squad numbers, if Junior had wanted 2 I'm sure he could've had it. I spoke to someone at the club at the Open Day on Sunday and he said not to be surprised if George has gone before the start of the season. He also said that Cooper is likely to figure more this season and that Hutchinson could turn into a special player and is one to watch. |  |

Livingston offered a derisory amount for Shamal.
Personally I hope we can hold onto him and hopefully will bring in a couple more players.
Totally agree about the youngsters. A lot of talent.
Cooper has proven what he can do.
WB will have plenty of options. Can he get the right mix of youth and experience.
A striker and another midfield player will strengthen the squad

If nobody leaves I can't see anyone coming in unless it's a loan signing. I keep seeing a lot of people saying we need a midfielder but I'm not so sure myself. What kind of midfielder are you thinking of? A wide player? | |

RS - my thoughts on a midfield player is a simple replacement for Brendan Wiredu.
Whilst we have a number of midfielders in the squad there is no enforcer. We are ok for wide players.
Hannant and Newby offer width whilst Cooper has much to offer and new boy Ashley could be used either on the wing or up front.
It would be good to know whether Michael Folivi is fit and able to take up the contract offer that was made by the club before his achilles injury.
Folivi plus another central midfielder would complete the squad.
