Quick post to wish Lloyd good luck He wasnt the most appreciated player at Southampton as often the case with home grown players, but he certainly had a bit about him that many didnt see. He is able to play either right back, right midfield or in the centre of the midfield, he has the ability to deliver a ball and more often than not he would be involved in goals with an accurate cross or quick thinking pass. But his problem was he was played in different positions all the time and never got the chance to stay in one, add to that a lac of pace and some fans got on his back, unfairly i would add. Up until the end of January he was a virtual ever present but picked up an injury and then rarely played which was strange. At the end of the season we had a big clearout anyd it was a surprise to see him released, but I think Pardew decided that he had to clear the decks and if he wasnt going to get much of a look in then better to let him go. I have no doubt he will be an asset to Colchester and i really hope he shows some of his doubters here that they were wrong | |
