Cherries ripe for the picking? 22:42 - Dec 14 with 585 viewsdurham_exile

Note for all travelling U’s fans tomorrow, bring your boots.

Colchester has Gavin Massey, Magnus and Marcus Bean all suspended.

Alex Gilbey is injured, Matt Heath remains sidelined and both Arsenal loanees have returned to London injured.

JD travels with a depleted squad to Dean Court where the U’s have enjoyed great success in recent games.

Perhaps the most disappointing comment from the EADT (that famous journalistic organ of the written word) is “struggling Colchester head to promotion chasing Bournemouth”.

Eddie Howe has once again worked wonders at Dean Court since his return and they have embarked upon the same run as JD enjoyed immediately after taking over at the WHCS.

JD will need to instil some magic this week on the south coast. His line up is likely to be in a 4-4-2 formation:

Cousins

Wilson Thompson Eastman Potts

Hendo Bond O’Toole Woody

Sears Ibehre

Subs:

White, Rose, Izzet, Wright, Pentney, Morrison, Olufemi

As you can all see we are down to the bare bones and everyone will need to fire on all cylinders tomorrow.

Anything points wise is required to arrest the alarming slide down the table.

With Walsall next weekend, which I will be going to, this is a great opportunity to gain 6 points. There is no reason why our excellent record cannot be kept going at Bournemouth and last season’s Bescot shambles will surely not be repeated.

6 defeats in the last 7 is simply shocking and losing to Oldham (who are not a good team) was simply shambolic.

Much more is expected of want away Woody and the suspension of Magnus gives JD the chance to see Eastman and Thompson pair up in the centre of defence.

My favourite John Joe O’Toole (the forgotten man) must return tomorrow and much more is expected of Andy Bond.

I look forward to your thoughts about the game Wessex, unless you will be Christmas shopping!

Safe journey to all the faithful who will be travelling.

7 of 8 now

But it mainly came down to one lapse, a training ground corner bumble-up, in the first half but still the U's were up to the challenge to capture something from this one with a spirited 2nd half.

A defeat versus a club on a thirteen game unbeaten run now is hardly something to hang one's head over.

Onward to Bank's stadium and an unSaddling occasion for the hosts.

Poll: In Daniel's PL, Sector4 is top, I'm 2nd or 3rd depending on the update

Pete - the real disaster here is that our record at Dean Court had been nothing short of tremendous (5 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat in the last 8).

Now we can't even pick up a point at such venues.

Saturday is the last chance saloon - a defeat and the bottom four beckons.

We are surely better than that.

Saddle up for three points!
