Craig Eastmond stretchered off 20:49 - Jul 10 with 854 viewsnoah4x4

Shocking tackle. Unnecessary.
Taken off in splint; looked painful and distressed.
Since heard from dressing room; knee swollen, but no break.
Even so, a bad start. Begs question will he be fit for 3rd August.
Joe Dunne visibly angry.

U's losing 1-0 at half time against run of play.

Absolutely no need for a challenge like that in a friendly match (or any match).
Let us hope that Craig is ok.

Result Heybridge 1 - 2 Colchester
Much better second half where fitness paid dividends.

Goals from O'Toole and Drey Wright.

Nobody particularly stood out in first half. Neat fluid passing, but less penetration into the box than it deserved. Sears shooting below par. Ball changed about six times, but I don't think he burst them and he certainly didn't hit anything.

Second half, both Wrights looked super, as did Olefumi. 11 changes, much more direct and effective. Morrison (2nd half) did better than Ibrehe (1st) but I attribute that to quality of service. First half we looked like Brazil until near each penalty area; where we seemed a bit hesitant.

My perspective; decent squad, but it might not be the line up we expect on 3rd August as many of the youngsters are pushing hard for a place and could ease out some seasoned pros. Such competition can only be encouranging.

Two questions - how is Craig Eastmond - X - Ray results all clear hopefully

and do we have enough firepower up front or do we need another striker?
