Spotland open to paying fans today
at 19:20 28 Jun 2021

I went to Scotland's three games at Hampden and Wembley and time slots didn't matter. My slots were 12-12:30 and 5-5:30 for Hampden and 7-7:30 for Wembley.
On arrival, you had your ticket activated, a search with a scanner and that was it.
Whatever time you got there, you got in.
Nearest I got to the slot time was Wembley.

Wish I knew! The calibre of player of days gone by just isn't there and there don't appear to be signs of that changing. There were better players that had dropped out of the squad but I still thought the players selected would have had enough about them to win.
Unfortunately, the ability to do the basics wasn't there. Complete lack of ideas and leadership on the pitch and off it. Coaching staff and players not good enough and none of those players could've come off the pitch on Thursday night and honestly say they gave it everything.
I hope for better news from Spotland today and tomorrow against Scunthorpe and Widnes.

One night in Astana was the worst I've witnessed in the years I've been following Scotland home and away. The first time I've envied the armchair viewer who can switch off at 3-0, a luxury I did not have.
Now, here in Bologna, I dread the sequel on Sunday. However, if I was at home, I'd be at Dale on Saturday. I know which is the cheaper of two evils but I'm not sure which is the lesser of two evils!
But as we all know from following our local and national teams home and away, we do as we do for the love of it, the people we go with and the places we go too.
Unfortunately, there's 90 minutes of suffering along the way for me and many like me but we still do it.
And yes, McLeish is showing the British Government how quickly leaving Europe can be done.

You think the European Cup on TV will affect the attendance at Dale the same evening and I don't.

"A few thousand" was based on the suggestion that Dale playing at home on the same night as the European Cup is on TV will affect attendance at Dale.
The home stands for MK Dons were a few thousand missing from the Sunday against Spurs. The night of the MK Dons game coincided with Man Utd being on TV in the European Cup. The Man Utd game must have been the reason for a few thousand less on the gate at Dale.
I agree that Liverpool v Man City in the European Cup on TV will be more appealing to the generic football fan but I would still think that, should he or she be able to attend the game, the Dale Supporter will still be at the home game on the same night.

Big attendance at Dale tomorrow then as Man City don't have a game.

You are quite right of course.

The few thousand that went missing between Spurs at home and MK Dons at home were all Dale and Man Utd fans watching the 1st leg of the Sevilla game. The same applied to the 2nd leg on Tuesday night which accounts for the 2,200 and something at the Southend game.

These Man Utd fans will now have defected to either Liverpool or Man City for the next round.

Attendances at Spotland are not affected by European Cup football. They are only affected by the fact that the majority of people in the town have no interest in watching the town's team.

Westminster attacked

Before it was confirmed, was anyone honestly so naïve as to think this wasn't done by a Muslim??
I'm glad there's a candlelit vigil at 6pm as that always strikes fear into the hearts of Muslim terrorists. Hopefully some landmarks and public buildings will be lit with the Union Flag as a two-pronged fight back!
I would also like a big debate/national conversation and to reach out to communities, understand why they feel so isolated. An apology on behalf of the British people too for not having done more to integrate Muslim communities into society.
After all, this was probably a man who at one time had no interest in religion at all, loved the British way of life and loved Premier League football. The Security Services will have known nothing about him as he has appeared from nowhere..........oh wait a minute......Big Andrew Knew!
As for the Mayor of London, he's shared a platform with extremists many times and when he was a Human Rights Lawyer and Chairman of Liberty, he acted on behalf of some of these people.
I'll sleep peacefully tonight knowing that, following the candlelit vigil at 6pm, the War on Terror will be over by half-past following a full surrender!

Good approach by Hornets to get help to boost attendances
at 14:00 8 Aug 2016

Hornets currently second in the Super 8s table, four points ahead of third placed Barrow. Another very good result yesterday beating Keighley 18-4 but only 510 there to see it.
Attendances are certainly in need of a boost for Hornets and Dale but I'm not convinced the mindset of people will be changed no matter how many letters after their names these post grads have.

Hornets: Still unbeaten in t'league!
at 21:47 24 Apr 2016

A good summary. Prior to today Toulouse had only conceded six points. In the first 20 minutes I feared the worst with Toulouse going 16-0 up. They looked like the full-time team that they are. Moved the ball quickly and looked fitter, quicker and stronger.
Good to see Hornets fight back which Toulouse didn't like at all. They became very ill-disciplined with a number of head high tackles missed by the referee and his touch judges. Just like watching Dale on a Saturday for poor referees and linesmen. Toulouse were obviously rattled, quite a few punch-ups also. A draw was about right overall after a poor start, fighting their way back to be 26-16 up in the second half and nearly pinching it right at the end with a drop goal attempt at 28-28.
Not sure why a full-time team have been put into League 1 and wrapped in cotton wool by the RFL. Toulouse didn't play on Easter weekend and didn't play in the League Cup. Why they weren't just put straight into the Championship I don't know.
An entertaining afternoon which even included pre-match National Anthems!!

We should also raise our mugs in a toast to the memory of Choppers who has passed away at the age of 48. She was the last of the original PG Tips chimps playing Ada in the adverts.

Based on sentencing guidelines, the maximum prison term Johnson could face for grooming is two years and six months. He pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and one charge of grooming.
He has denied two further charges of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl. If he is found guilty of the two further charges, the maximum sentence he could face is fourteen years.

NFR....motorhead
at 10:29 29 Dec 2015

I see someone has posted the youtube clip of Motorhead on The Young Ones. Funny that I was only watching it a couple of days ago and then I've woken to the news this morning.
I always had Lemmy in the same category as Ozzy and Keith Richards, men that were seemingly indestructible while others passed on around them.
I was really looking forward to Motorhead (with Saxon and Girlschool) at the end of January.
Plenty of Lemmy stuff on 6 Music throughout the day.
