 | Forum Reply | Southampton At Coventry City The Preview at 18:38 13 Mar 2026
It's going to be tough to beat Cov at the moment. They have won 6 on the bounce, which was only matched by their form back in October and November. They were starting to look flakey in December and Jan but they signed Frank Onyeka on loan from Brentford on deadline day and he's had a huge impact. Matt Grimes was at the core of the early season success but he was having to carry too much. Onyeka has changed all that and now they have two very good midfielders. Onyeka has played in 5/6 of the games they've won since he signed. Grimes was MOTM in their win against Preston in midweek. Charles and Downes against them will be interesting. Cov are susceptical to goals from in the 6 yard box, so Larin will be important. I also fancy Edozie to give their defenders some issues, assuming no Scienza. |

Next 4 games includes Baggies, Norwich and Oxford who are all in the bottom half, but Norwich are playing much better now. Cov away is difficult for anyone this season. But then the next 5 are all top half: Ipswich, Wrexham, Derby, Swansea, Bristol We finish a bit easier with Blackburn and Preston. There's still a lot of tough games and a long way to go. But Tonda is the man to do it! |

4-0 down to Althetic inside 22 minutes. It took them 25 minutes to be 4-0 up against us at St Marys. I left that game after the 3rd on 14 mins. That was less than 18 months ago. They, like we were, are f*cked. ...oh, see they've got a goal back. that's a shame... |

Very good work! I agree with you about remaining civil on here. We've all got our opinions and (notwithstanding what Jelly believes) we're free to express them. But roll this back to the years immediately post-Brexit and this forum was full of a lot more vitriol than it is now, so I wouldn't be too concerned. Sometimes a bit of robust debate is good. As for your more general comment that the forum should be restricted to football, there's a football only thread if people don't want to get involved in other stuff. And, yes, people shouldn't post their other stuff on there but again I don't see too much harm in the other stuff on the non-footbal thread. It's not just the trivial political stuff that goes on there, it's the important stuff about biscuits and players that sound like animals too. Also, yes, i could find another forum to debate politics etc but I'm on here and one thing about here is that for all the political differences and opinions there's a common support for Saints alongside all that. I have my liberal-ish world views, and I learn a lot on here from fellow travellers who have completely different views. Even Jelly. |

It’s not news, Jelly, that the US supports Israel and that there is a powerful pro-Israeli Lobby in the US. You don’t need conspiracy theory for that - it’s all in plain sight. But Trump is the first President I can remember that has given Israel a blank cheque to pursue whatever aggressive/expansionist regional military agenda it pleases. |

Trump's personality is such that he assumes that he's always winning. That everything he does is 'perfect'. I think that makes him ease to play. Putin has certainly played him, and it's probably no coincidence that Israel has become far more aggressive in Gaza, the West Bank, and now in relation to Iran too during Trump's Presidency. |

Trying to second guess or keep up with Trump is foolish. This is the guy that gets upset because he hasn't been given a peace prize and yet who supports Israel in Gaza and then starts a regional war in the Middle East. And meanwhile takes no meaningful steps to stop Putin. His foreign policy, like his mind and his speeches, is all over the place. We can only watch and, yes, tread carefully as a nation in the wake of the chaos he creates. |

Boro are very 'streaky'... They lost to Cov at home 4-2 on 25 November and then went WWWW. (12/12) Then LDLL (1/12) Then WWWWWW (18/18) Then they lost to Cov again on 16/2 and since then it been DD to Oxford and Leicester. (2/9) By rights this'll be the start of another winning run. |

VAR shouldn’t referee the game. It should only ask if the actual officials made glaring errors. It’s not difficult, but there’s too much money invested with video refs to take away their powers and leave them twiddling their thumbs for most of the time. Give anyone power and they will overuse it. This is also not difficult. |

"What will it actually take for you to accept that the democracy that we have is a cover for oligarchs to subjugate and immiserate us while they abuse our children and get richer and cull the peasant herd." Any evidence at all of a global conspiracy, Jelly. But we've been asking you on here for years for details and it always somehow seems impossible to pin you down. Is there a clue in your name, Jelly? |
 | Forum Thread | Getting to the play offs at 22:24 25 Feb 2026
We've achieved phase one of getting to 'best of the rest' 7th place but with Millwall, Ipswich, Hull and Wrexhm all in form, making that step into the top 6 is going to require consistency and patience. The beginning of April sees us play Ipswich at home then Wrexham away and we still need to be within striking distance by then. Interesting Hull play Portsmouth on Saturday but then face their three play off colleagues in successive games. I think we can get to 6th but one of the 4 immediately above us is going to need a dip while we don't have one. Come on Tonda - you can do it! |
