You lads should be banging down his door at present time with a 2 year deal as he'll likely keep you up or at the worst have you in good stead to come straight back up.

Good luck for the rest of the season hope you lads stay up.

Think it's paper talk tbh mate. We look to be going in for cover for Baines so possibly Connolly might go out on loan somewhere but can't see anything permanent happening this season.

Hard to judge considering we had about 5 players in the team who had never played together and that opposition were already into their season whereas we still are in pre season fitness wise. A.C. Milan have spent €200 million this summer yet only just beat some farmers 1-0, pre season too early to judge.

I agree mind we need another striker coming in which Koeman intends to bring in. Giroud and Benteke are the 2 reportedly after, would be happy with either and think both would flourish from Siggurdssons set pieces should he come.

West Ham have signed Hernandez and would offer a packet of crisp for Giroud mate. Doubt he'll come and Benteke won't be going to Chelsea when they play 1 up top and have Morata and Batshuyai (and Costa if he doesn't go)

Personally would like Slimani or Celtics Dembele think they are both decent players.

I honestly don't know what he'll play as we still are After a striker and rumours we want a LB. Rooneys played well hes scored in both our pre season games and looks fitter than what he did at Utd where I think he had gone stale. I can't see him sitting on the bench but I don't see where he would fit in either tbh.

Can definitely see a big target man coming in and holding the ball up for Sandro who's similiar to Vardy in using his pace to play off the defenders shoulder. I'm a big fan of Slimani who I think has more to show than what he has so far at Leicester.

Ironically the team I posted is slow up top but we would have Bolasie, Lookman, Mirallas and Davies on the bench for those positions who are full of pace, 50/50 if Barkley will stay or not.

Van Dijk was taken on Blackpool teacups by Klopp and has been told to force a move by Ex LFC players and pundits, it's nothing like that situation mate. It's your typical player has interest from club and wants the move so acts up. Lukaku basically knew which club he was going to before we even accepted a bid from Utd these things go on.

I don't believe our new owner is whiter than white, and his long term business partner Alisher Usmanov who's the Russian shareholder at arsenal sponsors our training ground which some people believe Moshiri is a puppet and Usmanov is the De facto owner of us as the pair bought into arsenal together in which Usmanov bought Moshiris shares out to buy us.

Whatever happens on the pitch what I know is our fans will always remain classy, Everton in the Community is one of the best community projects in England and our club does massive charity work. We have the likes of Speedo Mick who raises money for various charities, we donated the 250k to young Sunderland fan Bradley and made him our mascot/are doing a charity match this summer in his honour. Add in support for LFC over the years for the fight for justice Very few clubs can boast the amount of good work we do in the Community and Bill Kenwright for all his faults is a great ambassador.

I feel your fans judge the club based off a few idiots on Twitter and the fact we have turned the head of your best player, but we are totally different from the plastic clubs like Chelsea.

I'm not 100% sold on him tbh mate but the stats I've seen are impressive and I trust Koeman to get it right. I agree I think we'll go 4-3- 3 with him wide left something like:

Pickford

Coleman Keane Williams Baines

Gana Klaassan Schnerderlin

Sandro Giroud/Benteke Siggurdsson

I imagine that'll be what the team will look like should he sign and we go for a big target man through the centre.

Because it's clear to anyone with 2 eyes that Siggurdsson is as good as gone, it's a case of when will Everton offer the £50 million that Swansea will accept. If Koeman decides to wait til August 20th and puts that offer in and you guys accept, do you really think you won't then be tucked up for your replacement/transfer targets so late in the window by clubs knowing you have £50 million in your back pocket?

There's a reason why clubs prefer to do their business early mate.

We wanted £100 million for Lukaku - we got £75 rising to £90 million

Swansea are holding out for £50 million - if Everton pull out tomorrow and the most you get offered is £35-40 million from a Leicester would you seriously applaud your board?

Or you sell him with 2 weeks to go before the window and panic buy on overpriced players?

Or be stuck with a player who doesn't want to be at the club?

Im just saying we've hardly done a West Ham and offered you 5 pence, we've made a massive bid and imo your board are dragging the deal over which certainly doesn't help you guys.

We got £75 million upfront for Rom mate, if you get £40 million which is more than half what we got for a 23 year old forward who bangs 25 goals a season. Siggurdsson is 28 with little resale value who whilst had very good stats isn't on the same level of player as Lukaku. The likes of Morata went for what £65 million? Bernado Silva £42 million? Salah £38 million?

I just think we've offered more than what you'll get elsewhere, as they say something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. The markets crazy and once you get that £50 million every club out there will be looking to add another £5-10 million onto your targets which you'll pay as deadline day approaches.

It's madness mate.

Exactly my thoughts mate, yet some of your fans seem more bothered about "not looking weak" I just don't understand why you would want him around when he wants out. Lukaku is the best striker I've seen in an Everton shirt since the 80's yet soon as he rejected that new deal I wanted him out on July 1st.

Personally I think it'll go to £45 million rising to £50 million with add ons as Koeman clearly wants him, but I think Swansea should be taking the money and reinvesting in players who want to play for the shirt.

I may come across as condacending but I'm merely giving the opposing viewpoint that many fans from other clubs have When they seen that bid rejected. I like Swansea as a club and hope they have a good season. Got alot of time for the Welsh anarl!

I woudlnt say degraded at all mate, have we had our manager or players talk up Siggurdsson like Mourinho/Cahill/Terry did with Stones? No

Have we had ex players come out telling Siggurdsson to hand in a Transfer Request to force a move like Liverpool have with Van Dijk? No

The simple fact is Everton have offered more money than Swansea will ever get for a 28 year old who'll never get another offer similiar.

Said player has since not travelled with the squad to pre season, missed time with said squad, and you guys are waiting for him to go before replacing him in time for the start of the season - in which case if you buy abroad it could take a few games for said player to get upto the pace of the league/understanding with his team mates.

Swansea are entitled to ask for whatever they want, but I personally think they are cutting of their noses to spite their faces when they narrowly avoided relegation last season and could be rebuilding the swuad instead of postering for weeks over a measly £5 million.

Players come and go mate, we sold Lukaku to Utd, they never degraded us they just offered big money (that wasn't the £100 million we wanted) we accepted and moved on. Obviously it's completely upto Swansea if to sell at what price and Everton have to put up or shut up, but to suggest Everton are degrading Swansea isn't true imo.

In the last 10 seasons

Everton
Leicester
Southampton
Newcastle
Aston Villa

All of the above have finished 6th or higher on atleast 1 occasion, the idea that the top 6 is some mystical wall that can't be broken is a fallacy. It was once the top 4 until City got their lottery win and Spurs estbalished themselves under Pochettino.

We finished 15 points ahead of 8th and that was in a season of transition, Lukakus goals got us a total of 9 points last season so even without any of his goals we still would have finished 6 points clear of 8th. Considering we are moving to a new 55-60k seater stadium, are investing decent sums in the playing squad and have improved other areas of the pitch namely the GK, CB and the midfield positions with Gana, Schneiderlin, Bolasie, Klaassan and Sandro all signing the past season the league could effectively turn into a top 7.

In all fairness, even if we are still miles of the CL (which I agree with) o suggest Siggurdsson would rather stay fighting relegation than be playing in Europe next season is deluded tbh.

But Everton fans have heard it all last season:

Southampton fans said it over Koeman
Palace fans said it over Bolasie
Burnley fans said it over Keane

I don't get why your being hostile tbh, we are a more attractive proposition and Siggurdssons not getting any younger, He'll be what 29 next season? He knows this is his last chance realistically to join a club challenging for Europe/top 4. You'll never get £45 million+ from any of the top 6 clubs and he doesn't want to move to Leicester.

I used to be like you mate and thought "sod the player if he has to stay he stays" then when you hit the glass ceiling of 6/7th and realise players have the power in modern football sadly you accept modern day football for what it is - players, managers and owners come and go, you just hope you reinvest the money/appoint better people.

Swansea are fully entitled to hold out for what they want, but part of me hopes we don't go to £50 million and look elsewhere, Mahrez for a reported £30 million would be much more value for money although it's not my money so I'll leave it to the club ha!

We'll get nowhere near £50 million for Barkley more like £25-30 million. You can't compare English players as they go for the "English premium" rightly or wrongly. We also put a price tag of £100 million on Lukaku originally.

He seems a good lad so I doubt he would kick up a fuss if he did stay but if he doesn't give 100% I think it's very risky on Swanseas part keeping hold of him. We wanted £100 million for Lukaku but sold for £75 rising to 90 as we didn't want a half arsed Rom around the dressing room (we found that our with Stones and Lescott in previous saga's)

I think you lads will get the £50 million in add ons but I wouldn't be disappointed to see us walk away either tbh, plenty of good players out there for £45 million wish we would actually do some scouting!

Personally think we'll offer £45 million rising to £50 with add ons and it'll be done. What's your financial situation like in terms of signing players? Personally I think it's a risky game Swansea are playing when they need to get in a replacement and get them bedded into the squad. Sunderland fans who i spoke to were gutted they played hard ball over Kone last summer then when we pulled our interest he pulled a strop and never looked arsed during the season. Not saying Siggurdsson would do that like.

Hopefully this is resolved sooner rather than later for both clubs!

It's funny as I post on a number of other clubs forums and I always find we have a very similiar fanbase to clubs like Man City (until their takeover) and Sunderland in that we are largely a local working class fanbase who puts up with self entitled neighbours.

You speak to any Blue and we'll tell you as it is - we are a club good enough for 7th who might push for 4/5/6 in a very good season.

Speak to any Liverpool fan, and it's about how great they are, how every transfer signing they make is world class and how they're going to win the league every season.

I agree some of our fans on social media act like morons but I don't think that should tar the rest of us like that. I think it's largely down to the fact that for the best part of 2 decades we've been ran by skint and incompetent ownership in Peter Johnson then Bill Kenwright and had to sit by For years penny pinching and selling to buy/pay off banks whilst our neighbours continued to win trophies/spend massive sums of money. I was lucky enough to see us in the 70's and 80's but it's not been easy for the young blues growing up in the city through the 90's relegation battles and early 00's (hell even when we had some form of achievement finishing 4th that lot had to go one step better and win the bloody CL!) Thankfully Moyes had us punchimg about our weight financially and kept us in and around the top 6/7 but now it looks like we have a board who can give us the means to atleast compete again.

I think now we finally have an owner who looks to have some cash and an actual business model in place has just made some fans giddy, although theirs no excuse for them to act like Muppets.

Trust me outside of the world of social media the majority of our fanbase are some of the most level headed you can find. You can't share a city with such a bunch of self entitled and deluded rivals and not have some sense of self reflection! ;)

I personally don't think Siggurdssons worth £50 million but if that's what you guys are asking for we either put up or walk away! Swansea are totally entitled to hold out for a big fee imo.
