Anyone read this? The main guy Keith Talent (ex armed robber and soon to be murderer) is a QPR fan and much of the action revolves around pubs in the Golborne/Portobello Road area- brilliant local detail and focus on things like darts and pub culture in the late 80's, well worth a read |
| Forum Thread | Away clubs who take up their full allocation at Loftus Road at 19:37 17 Dec 2012
This would be my guess: Norwich, Chelsea, Tottenham, Man U, Arsenal, Fulham, Southampton, Liverpool West Ham and Man City should, but probably don't. Also wasn't sure about Liverpool, might depend on when the game is on. |
| Forum Thread | Shepherd and Flock at 20:26 11 Dec 2012
Quite a few 'old school' Fulham fans (i.e. ordinary blokes rather than coked up Danny Dyer wannabes who drink in the Hop Poles or Durrell Arms) go for a drink in the Shepherd and Flock prior to QPR away. Is this a decent mix of home and away normally or is it mainly an away pub? We went to the bounds green or somewhere last year but now considering options for Saturday. What do you reckon's a good one to go to? |

And a 3 day ban? It's reminiscent of Hangeland's tackle v Sunderland- not malicious but somewhat reckless and unnecessary from a normally sane and reliable figure. A brief ban might sober him up/rehabilitate him a bit. I'm happy to take on board a yellow card myself if this is considered dissent. |

Is it still the case that some seats remain empty due to health and safety? I've noticed unoccupied seats when QPR fans have been in that section but didn't notice any gaps when seeing Chelsea's support- is it a different rule depending on who's in there or was I just not looking properly ? |
| Forum Thread | Mark Hughes- Fulham fan's view at 22:43 11 Jan 2012
Posted this on another thread but it got a bit lost in the minor insult trading I think Hughes is a good appointment for you and would be shocked if he didn't keep you up. I personally think he has more authority than Warnock and will be able to discipline your boys well. The type of thing Warnock did with Traore on the touchline where he embarrassed him in front of everyone after his second booking would never happen with Hughes. He earns the players' respect and they then respect him. He can be quite ruthless though if he doesn't like a player. Paintsil was good for us the year before but he didn't like him so dropped him for good, but on the whole he made good decisions. He also got us playing good football contrary to expectations; we all thought he'd emphasise the physical side of the game but we ended up winning the fair play league. He did show plenty of passion on the touchline though (unlike Roy) and this went down well and was sometimes quite funny (such as when he cupped his ear at the Stoke fans and kicked, tried to kick a water bottle at Mick McCarthy and slapped Mancini's hand). He's a bit sensitive though, and beware that he will have been waiting for Fernandes et. al to make big promises so that some time in the future, if he needs to, he can say 'my experiences have not matched up to what was promised by the board' and walk away. That said, I think he's an honourable guy and when he did walk away, at least he did it at the end of his contract and not mid season. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Which of these are the biggest QPR areas? Hounslow Hillingdon Harrow Hayes Ruislip Feltham Ashford Northolt Uxbridge Wembley Richmond Ealing Hanwell Greenford Pinner Perivale Harrow Weald Stanmore Eastcote Acton Any areas I've missed off? I suppose if you go much west of this (Langley/Slough etc) you're in Chelsea territory, and much north (Rickmansworth/Borehamwood) it's Arsenal/Tottenham territory. What do you reckon? |
| Forum Thread | i'VE now developed a soft spot for QPR at 16:58 29 Dec 2011
There's something about actually talking to fans which brings home our common humanity. What do you reckon my chances of getting a ticket to Newcastle away on the 15th are? Failing that I'll try a home cup match |
