I agree. All about control. Always has been. next line should be 'always will be' but I don't think that's applicable. As for the FA, well i think Ko and the O's have paraded as Peacocks showing their plumage far too often for that not to have been noticed by the FA in conjunction with the obvious. |

I've been advocating a DoF for some years now for a couple of reasons. One is that he would be looking at a longer term view than any manager- by definition managers would prefer First XI ready players and so would choose to spend there, whereas the Club would benefit from a mix of ready players and potential for x period ahead. The second reason is probably where the crux of our woes lie, namely that the football manager CANNOT be the highest ranked football person at the Club, which at BFC he is. There has to be someone who is empowered to make decisions on football matters with the confidence of the Directors. Karl making decisions with a manager, especially a poor one is going to pear shaped. I'd go for an old head myself, someone like Joe Royal or even a David Pleat. Tony Parkes perhaps, but certainly someone who has vast management experience and numerous contacts. I also think the younger players setup needs radical overhauling. My own view is I'd like to see a scout dedicated to 17-20yo academy kids. He would need to have connections with PL academy 'managers' and should be looking to get first refusal on these players who are going to be released by the bigger clubs. For example Liverpool may have 3 LB's on their books but the Academy only needs 2 so they release the 3rd. That doesn't mean he's a bad player, just that he is surplus to what they can hold on to. I think there would be real value in this type of setup for us. Overseen by a DoF of course. Both appointments would be cost effective near enough from the off and in the case of a DoF could easily be a part time 3 day job. This fails obviously because of KO. The bloke needs to have the control. [Post edited 6 Mar 2015 15:14]

Riga brought in O'Hara (or at least he arrived when Riga was here). He wasn't fit enough for a contract, so he went away got fitter and came back. Nice to rewrite history to suit but answer me this, did Clark sign Legear or not? I ask because Clarke isn't sure. |

If only the next line after Rip it Up was 'and make the same mistakes...' |

As poor as the players are they are very poorly organised by the 'manager'. Manager of what? oyston's wishes maybe? |

It is worth taking a punt on the Greek islands. Prices are likely to increase slowly if at all- locals have to live too. Today I see the £ has steadied and slightly fallen back and I would expect it to fall to 1.26ish over the next few weeks as the reality, not the anticipation kicks in . Over the 12 months you have gained in excess of 20% even at 1.26 which makes it very attractive especially away from tourist traps. Of course some of us anticipated this and booked early- June flights to Crete £115rtn, nice Villa by the sea at early discount rates and cheap (er) meals out and in As Wham might have penned- Get back, hand's off, go for it.... |

Better than Zoko? The fact I ask tells a story in itself. |

ALWAYS someone and if they show any intent of trying to win a game then they'll be an improvement. |
| Forum Reply | Ched Evans going to Oldham? at 19:22 5 Jan 2015
Hero worship. Can you have an 8 year old saying to his parents 'when I grow up I want to be Ched Evans'? sadly for him the better you are the more the role model kicks in. I agree he should be allowed to get back into society but it's unrealistic for him to think nothing has changed. It has. I think I'm right in saying Owing Oy$cum can't be Chairman again? |

Whether Clark has the nous at this level isn't the issue. The issue is that his managerial philosophy was not one we required when he was appointed., therefore that should have excluded him for the job. The FACt that he accepted the job 24 hours before Riga was sacked says more about why he was appointed. The guys a muppet puppet and should be sacked NOW |

An interesting debate would be whether things would be very different had Clark been the summer manager with the fallings out and the Riga the one to come in and replace him. I think Clark would have left us with a couple, maybe 3 more points, but I reckon a more attacking minded manager like Riga would have picked up 2 perhaps 3 more wins than Clark has. All in all I could see is still in the bottom 4 but nowhere near as far adrift. |

Wrong manager. Given the position we were in, a manager with such an average CV who played defensively everywhere he's been was never going to turn defeats into wins. At least Riga tried. File under Karl's luck ran out some time ago when choosing manager's. [Post edited 5 Jan 2015 16:12]

Interesting, but forget the politics who would be your starting XI based on nothing more than what you have seen and what you think you may see? I'd go 1 Lewis 2McMahon 3Joan Oriel 4Rentmeister 5Nosworthy 6O'Hara 7Legear 8Cubero 9Edu 10Fonz 11Miller subs Parrish Clarke Eagles Telford Perkins Orlandi Davies [Post edited 2 Jan 2015 18:19]
