Heneghan is not available. He still has one match of his three match suspension to serve. Should be ok for Fleetwood next week!

New Manager announcement sweepstake!
at 19:19 29 May 2015

One theory is the man they want to appoint has a contract that runs until 31st May and so he will be announced on 1st June, which is Monday!? I am not in the know so don't shoot me when this turns out to be nothing like the truth!

How many seasons will it take us to get out of League One
at 19:14 29 May 2015

If Sheffield United cannot do it with their squad and their investment in players, then what chance have we? Once again KoKo drags his feet in his quest to bring in a new manager and when one finally arrives he will not be backed. Clark had told him he wanted players in early, but was allegedly told to come back and see him in July!!? We have no chance of having a squad together for the start of preseason training. Each season he tells us he is going to do things differently this year and then proceeds not even to do them the same, but even worse than he has ever done before!

Who senses a rat or a prat?

I suspect a smokescreen to pre-empt the BST bid, which is expected in June. Too late now, but it would probably have been better to keep their powder dry and mention nothing of their proposed bid until they had actually made it!

New Manager announcement sweepstake!
at 19:44 27 May 2015

Sky Sports describe the Blackpool manager's job as "perhaps the most undesirable vacancy in the Sky Bet Football League". I fully agree, but I would not have used the word "perhaps". I don't think KoKo wants an early appointment as this would mean he would have to start spending money! He is probably finding it extremely difficult to fill the vacancy because of his and the club's terrible reputation throughout football! So in a way it is working in his favour?

How much did we get in the end for Tom Ince?
at 20:44 25 May 2015

It does not really matter what "we" got for Ince. It is totally immaterial as none of it will be reinvested. Don't forget we are still looking for the Brett Ormerod money!

Ashley or Oyston
at 20:41 25 May 2015

At least Ashley has been man enough to come out and admit responsibility for Newcastle's very poor season, but which did not result in relegation. What have we had from Oyston, absolutely not a squeak, despite asking us to judge him in May.

Ashley has also promised investment in players for the coming season. Other than cheap free transfers and no hopers, investment will be nil at Blackpool.

Can the NAPM who travel away complain if we're crap?
at 20:25 25 May 2015

If people could be certain that football generated money, including gate receipts, was going to be reinvested into the playing side of the "business", then I am sure a lot more would pay over their money. We all know from experience that this is not the case, so I do not blame those who wish to stay away!

... and the new Blackpool manager is .... (speculative piece!)
at 20:19 25 May 2015

One of the reasons it is alleged Lee Clark left was KoKo's slow response to bringing in the players on the managers list? I cannot see him being in a rush to bring in a new manager, because he too would naturally want the majority of his players in time for preseason training. This would involve shelling out money in wages, if not transfer fees. I would imagine KoKo has also had a lot of rejections to his approaches to be our new manager. His reputation is now well known throughout the Football League, so when the manager finally emerges I would expect him to be a third rate candidate and no more!

Nile Ranger theory
at 20:02 20 May 2015

I agree. He is costing KoKo nothing in wages if he does not show and this is probably KoKo's way of getting back at him. I have no doubt that Ranger had had interest from clubs and was expecting to move to one of them as easy as that. KoKo will envisage some sort of a fee, but he stays away, then that is another year out of his playing career.

Great opportunity for the new manager
at 19:54 20 May 2015

I am sorry, this is not the way to run a football club.

You should not, at the end of each season, have to totally rebuild a team. In order to have a successful team you have to have a stable core to your squad, with just a few additions being made each season to enhance the quality.

This will never happen at Blackpool where players are only offered one year contracts with an option of another year in the club's favour! Consequently all the contracts expire at the same time which leaves you back at square one.

Has Oyston Learnt His Lesson Or Will There Be A Repeat Of Last Season?
at 19:27 18 May 2015

Has Oyston learned what lesson? You are forgetting he is always right and it is everybody else who is wrong. I expect much the same as last season i.e. the late appointment of a manager who will receive nil backing and some very late desperate signings to make up the numbers, but who will not stretch the already very tight budget. Another relegation is on the near horizon. Operaration Conference continues apace!

Looks like Cubero is gone as well
at 19:42 17 May 2015

I do not understand what the article is getting at. If a player satisfies the criteria for a work permit, it does not depend on which division his employing club plays in. The criteria involves the percentage of games the player has actually played for his country and his country's standing in the world rankings. Cubero may be looking for a get out, but I do not think the work permit approach will be successful! I may be wrong and would be happy to hear if someone knows differently!

Huddersfield fans don't seem too happy!
at 19:28 15 May 2015

I too wanted Huddersfield to be awarded three points for the game. I wanted us to finish on 25, so that this would be forever recorded on the Oyston's C.V. as the lowest ever points total in the Championship! "How not to run a club".

Fleetwood off to a good start!

Can you sign players on 3 year deals. I thought it had to be a year maximum plus an option in the club's favour. Where will it all end. Next thing players will be wanting more than £90 a week in summer!

Expectations for next season
at 20:21 10 May 2015

It will be much the same as last season. We currently have no manager and very few players, as was the case this time last year. KoKo will take his time selecting a "compliant" manager, as no one worth his salt would work under Oyston conditions. When selected the manager will have an even tighter budget to work under than last season. It does not look promising!

Any fans more odious than QPR?
at 20:13 10 May 2015

We will see whether the Football League implement their fair play rules in respect of QPR, who have grossly overspent!
It's a pity they can't take action against "The Company" for grossly underspending!

Your Next Blackpool Manager (from bookies suggestions)
at 20:10 10 May 2015

The first thing KoKo will be looking for in a manager is a "Yes Man". The fact a person is a good manager, who can motivate players, will be well down KoKo's list of desirable qualities. Also high on the list will be a manager who is amenable to cheap/free signings, who will only come into the club at the last possible minute! Nothing changes with KoKo, after all he is ALWAYS right and everyone else does it wrongly!
