I think we should all club together to object and demand that a 24-hour Tesco be built on this site. Along with a petrol forecourt as well, obviously. This is the way! |

Could he be a solicitor's down payment on a mortgage? I am sure the lags won't pass him around like the peace pipe, so everyone can have a go. Just ask Huntley. |
 | Forum Reply | Koki Saito at 14:41 9 Mar 2026
No, the reason JS picks him is that he has scored 3 goals, which is more than a lot of the other players. So, JS thinks he needs goals in the team as the team is struggling to score. Hence, Saito is being autopicked. It's nothing more sinister than that. But we know it's because Burrell isn't there, pressing and stretching the defence for Saito or the others to run into. Despite his goals, Saito needs to be dropped for Kohli (who we know from the left can score) and we are missing a partner for Kone. We should actually not play Morgan up front with him (like we did against Boro) but Vale and then have Morgan dropped for Edwards in the middle with Hayden. JCS and Dunne as the CB pairing now JCS is fit. On the right should be Smyth and then we hanker down like we are in a relegation battle of just a few years ago ... because on this form ... we are. We need to be very hard to score against and try and get something at the other end, and play Warball of keep ball to waste time. Yes its got to that sad state. But it is what it is. If Cook has renewed auto option in his contract due to the number of games played (assuming that's 30), then that was stupid. There was no way we were going to renew him for next season, as he will be 35 then and on super-high wages, and we could get two other players for. Granted, they will not be as good this season as Cook, but will Cook be as good as Cook next season? Unlikely as the Championship is only getting faster and tougher. At some point, we have to move on from Cook, even though it's clear he's one of our top performers. So, we always knew this and should not have put that 30-game cap in there (if it does exist). As this then means we only have Cook for 2/3s of the season. And we are not out of the relegation woods yet. Super stupid. If there is no cap, then he should be played, we can tinker with different CB's once we have crossed the line at 53 pts. Thus, no wonder Cook has removed all his QPR stuff; you would too if you had been treated that way. Also, Bournemouth is a Premier League club, so that makes him look for a Premier League club for his next club. Remember, Dunne is out of contract again at the end of the season. This leaves us with Edwards. Morrison and JCS (don't laugh at the back) are our only contracted CB's. Assuming Dunne renews, then we have enough there with 3 + 1 sick not to compete. And this also assumes Morrison returns to form. Many IF's, but not big ones. Then let's not get into we have no LB at all next season. But we do have lots and lots of wingers (who are never fit). They need Cook's wages to rebuild the squad again. But it has all been handled once again very badly. I still suspect they will sell Madsen and Varane in the summer, as these are our only salable assets. Chair hasn't played, no one will give us £5m for him now. We are not ready to sell Burrell or Kone. So, it has to be those two in the middle. Madsen is the obvious one, if he can get fit in time for and end of season run out. |

Last I heard, it was mid-April. Assuming that it takes a few games to get going, might as well say the season is over and just prepping him for next season or a summer sale. It's what I expect to happen with Madsen too. BTW: They said Larkeche remember him? Would be back in April too. Well see. |

We know what's wrong with it, like the rest of all the hamstrings that get pulled, it plays for QPR. 16th, nuff said. |

Celar scored two good goals against a team that went down, because their defence was terrible all season long. So bad a Cardiff team that Celar can score two goals against them and nobody else. Then he goes on loan and scores against no one else, as in no one. Despite people telling us that the injury prevented him from being the new messiah, but he failed to do it after the injury. So either he can only score for us now, or he's not good enough for anyone at this level, or even below. Celar is not good enough for this level and possibly not even L1. He cannot head; he cannot trap a ball. If given time (which, apart from a few games, you never will have at this level), he can shoot well and that's it. Think, even Bennie is better than him right now at this level, and Bennie probably won't make it. Lloyd is even better than Celar, and he cannot even make the team at Lincoln. True, at least they are decent. Celar will be loaned out at a loss for the L1 team next season, whereby he will get a few goals but nothing special, at which point we shall realise he's barely that standard and for that money, no one will want him. It will be like Richards, mutual agreement and back to Eastern Europe. |

Kone was decent, Bennie was not supported, but Kohli has had to face the same, so he may have blown his chance. Esq is not an LB, and I suspect that maybe they have decided now. Edwards was decent, and so too Dunne and JCS (don't laugh at the back). Morgan was ineffective but not terrible. Vale was decent in patches, too. Saito was poor, and Smyth should start instead now. This was not a terrible performance against a top side; it should have been a 1-0 loss, and with a reserve team too. |
 | Forum Reply | Our ‘goal’ today….why was it disallowed? at 23:45 28 Feb 2026
It was not offside, Smyth was not interfering with play as he stood off the keeper by about a yard just as the header was met from the corner. That goal should have stood; it was a stupid decision. The game was lost, though, when Varane decided to give SU a pure charity. He should have booted it upstream; he had a small go at Esq, but Esquidina had no other option as the SU press was good. He should have balloned it. |

This. He has some skill, but he cannot play LB as his positioning is too poor. LW may be an option, and also, possibly DMC long-term. What's happened is the classic "we need someone who has a left foot to play LB", and anyone who has skill gets picked to play LB (when they may not have that defensive mindset that you need as a defender). And from a young age, that continues forever until before you know, a few make it all the way to pro, when really they should have been moved upfield years before they even reached 14. For fullbacks, this is super common. Example Saka, originally an RB/RW until someone realised, oh, he should play RW ... like duh! |

His big miss, he will learn from, next time he will smash that and not lift it. So, he learned a valuable lesson in the game we won anyway, and he scored in any way. In addition to his decent hold-up play, he won a few more headers (so getting better at that), and his close control was excellent. In the 2nd half, he started to put some passes together with Kohli. If he keeps playing like that, he will score more goals. This player is a find and only at 22. I am hoping Obikwu comes good over time, as there is no way we shall be able to hold onto Kone, he is going to be a big player for us next season. |
 | Forum Reply | Mr Kone at 02:26 22 Feb 2026
Kone I said before was decent. Remember when Furs came here and was slated a lot, we later found out he had a back injury and also the team did not play to his strengths. The team need to play to his strengths as that is how we get the best from him. I stated many times Bennie is not a winger or midfielder. He cannot dribble or beat a player with pace. But what he can do is make great runs, continue running all game, and as I previously stated, I suspected his shooting was good as well. JS played him up front today as the 10, and it worked. If he can continue that, then we have a Tony Thorpe/Anyd Thompson type player on our hands here. This will be great as a backup for Burrell as he can press as well. We also learned that Hayden can play RB, as when we had the ball, he would drop back into their zone in the first half, and it worked. So, that is another useful option for the future. If we have Cook gone and Edwards in the middle, and Mgbenue gets suspended, then Hayden can play there. So, that was a useful experiment. Kohli struggled in the first half, but then started to click with Kone in the second. True, Dulls defence was terrible. But he was getting better before the sub. Won a few headers as well. JCS coming back is useful as RND I would think is getting tired now. JCS can at least play LB if he keeps fit (stop laughing at the back). The subs bench looked weak so, hopefully we see a return of a few more soon. We need Chair back. |

As already said 4 goals in 31 appearances (mostly from the bench as even Brizzle doesn't rate him a start) For the same money, we got Burrell, who has made 26 appearances (including some from the bench) and scored 10 goals. Armstrong will get another few starts toward that goal last night, but I suspect he won't even get 8 goals by the end of the season, so Burrell, for the same money, has already beaten him, and that's if he doesn't play another match this season. Armstrong and Kelman for Burrell and Kone is great business. Remember, forwards cost the big bucks! |

Frey, Cook, and Colback were brought in on mega-deal contracts to keep us up. It worked ... just. Frey and Colback are gone, and Cook only remains contract-wise as he was clever with his contract. Edwards has clearly been brought in to replace Cook. The problem is, I am not sure he's fast enough or good enough in the air for the Prem. Which means I am not sure we shall be able to sell him for big money. Champ-wise, he's decent, so it at least helps you avoid relegation. The rest have been bought as sell-ons, which didn't happen due to injuries. So, they flogged off Field (assuming his loan turns to perm). Nardi also leaves us with I assume Santos at the end of the season. This should save some monies as well as I assume Walsh and Cooper are on Dev squad wages. What some people may have forgotten here is that in the summer, we shall still need a new LB. So, that's one player coming in for sure. My guess is that they will flog Madsen or Varane for £6m or £5m in the summer. These are the only assets that someone would want to buy for the money we can get for them. No one is now paying £2m for Kohli; he's probably unlikely to be sold. The rest have been injured too much, and Kone and Burrell will wait for bigger money. Especially as Burrell's agent bragged he got him a 5-year deal when he signed, which is probably the usual 4+1 on our side. I would assume Kone is the same. I expect Madsen and Varane to leave in the summer. And we bring Hayden, Morgan and Vale in more, with a possible star DMC bought from the lower leagues. Dunne to be renewed for another year, and then it's possible to get away with it in the middle as Edwards can play there, if (sorry when) we get injuries. Morrison will be brought back to replace Cook. |

GK - Walsh, Cooper, New GK RB - Mbengue, New RB LB - Larkeche, New LB CB - Dunne, Edwards, JCS, Morrison CM - Madsen, Hayden, New CM, New CM (I'm assuming Varane gets sold) AM - Chair, Poku, Dembele, Smyth, Saito, Kolli, Vale ST - Kone, Burrell, Obikwa Dunne would have to be renewed and then he can cover RB for Mbengue if we keep Cook. I suspect if Cook's last performance was a one-off and he is fit for the remainder of the season, then QPR should offer him a 1-year deal on reduced terms. He would be mad not to take that, as then he gets another year in the Champ, and with our record, that's a ton of games. Remember JCS is never fit. Larkeche could be finished and Esq is no LB. So, we have no LB right now, let alone in the summer. RND's wages are too expensive, so forget him. Varane will probably stay, as no one will meet our asking price. Somehow, we need to get Zan Celar off the books, too. An almighty feat. |

Bennie is not a winger, as we saw once again here. He could play as a striker, as his movement is good and he seems to score when given chances. But he's not a winger, so there is no point playing him there. Should have played Smyth from the start on the right. I suspect he's blown his chance now anyway and will be the person changed out for the next game. RND will now possibly be a little less arrogant after getting done like that and concentrate on defending a bit more. Mgbenue is a little lucky that they imploded, as now he can sneak his way back into the team. Hayden may also be changed out for Morgan, as at least Morgan runs around a lot. When's Chair, Burrell and the mythical Poku/JCS back? Answers on a postcard to Fantasy Island. |

He has been clever. Charlton does not have Champ players, so he's gone for the PNE approach, and it's working. We didn't like it, and they marked Madsen and Vale out of the game. This time our wingers did not come to the resecue so that was that. Luckily, at the other end, a forward line of Dykes and Kelmen is L1 at best, so we did not have that much to worry about. When Coady, who is playing out of position in midfield, has your best chance and misses it, you know your forward line is drek poor. |
