gibson, hit the nail on the head there. Fact is he was a manager that had fallen out with all the chairmen for various reasons, he had a decent track record and had won cups/leagues but had possibly entered into the fail manager bracket. Now he sits on the verge of being able to boast a Spanish and English cup win. Taking a sure cannon fodder second season worthless team to knocking on the door of european league spots.
Liverpool thought they got the whole package in Brendan, and don't get me wrong I like BR. He was never the whole package here. It is as clear as black and white that the club as a whole is the reason for our success. Strange that one year on they haven't learned from their mistakes.
If Laudrup would leave in the summer we are talking the top top teams now, either through history or who have more money than countries. Just thank the lord that we have a board that know what to look for and do it without predjudice.
