Don't know why but it I thought about the fad that was prevalent in the 00's that disappeared as fast as it arrived. Mainly Arsenal, but the practice of footballers smearing vicks vaporub on the chest of their shirts.
I firmly believe the disappearance of this practice coincided with Arsenals decline in winning league titles, nothing to do with them failing to replace great players with crapper ones. |

I don't know. I think shoving away fans in the corner instead of them being behind the Northam was a good move, but it's lost something with the interaction between the Itchen North being lost and coupled with a season to forget where there's been literally nothing to cheer. As for the Bantz. I moved to block 41 from the Itchen. It's not been too bad where I am, one thing I am acutely aware of is the younger bell ends. I guess that is just a generational thing. |

One thing I think we can all agree on, despite who has been where and responsible for whoever. Sports Republics time at our club has been a disaster and not many people have any trust in them getting anything right anytime soon, one poor decision seems to follow another. Dragan seems to get a pass whilst Rasmus and Kraft seem to be the fall guys but he's as much to blame as anyone. |

We tried that formation at home to Forest back in August. It appears no lessons have been learnt at all this season whoever is in charge.

I thought we got Martin because he played the style of football Wilcox wanted us to play? I’m not so sure he would have told Martin his system wasn’t working if it aligned with his vision.
The points you make about him being a figurehead, I can see his value somewhat there but since departing his legacy hasn’t seen us shining so perhaps as the OP stated, there’s a bit of a myth about him. |

I can’t remember how long he was with us for, it didn’t seem a particularly long time? From memory, only Lavia was a success from the signings I remember being attributed to him.
Sports Republic are only interested in signings costing up to £15M so even if he’d still been here I can only assume that we’d be making more of the same signings.
Perhaps he did have a big influence behind the scenes. His leaving seems to be linked by some for a big factor in our current malaise. |

You are not alone in thinking this. His modus operandi was it seemed, to buy Man City academy players. I struggle to believe we’d be doing much better with him still here. Perhaps those trumpeting his influence know more than us about what he was doing behind the scenes. |

Like Pat I've enjoyed the days out, done a couple of away trips with my son that we've enjoyed for the change of scenery.
The last couple of weeks I have had other things to occupy me, I said to my son that I've not missed Saints ruining the weekend for me. I'm torn about this Saturday. I know we've been seen as 3 away points for which ever team is turning up but we also seem to particularly bend over for Wolves to stick it in that little but more over the last few years.
I've never wanted a season to finish more than I have this one.
It is also a little disappointing the lack of any sort of statement from the club about this seasons sh!tshow. I know there isn't much they can say, but some form of acknowledgement about it and a loose statement of intent for next year (plans are in place etc.) wouldn't hurt. I'm not holding my breath though, the next comms will be in April with regards to season ticket renewals.
Fan engagement, much like their ability to get football right is zero.

I watched the very short highlights on Sky this morning. How many times are teams going to be allowed to run through the middle of our defence en-mass completely overrunning us.
We might not be tippy tappying it around there anymore but somehow I think we’ve got even worse! |

I can’t say I’m done for the season but after last week I don’t think I’ll be in a hurry to get back. I listed my ticket on the exchange for Jurics’ first game in charge and no one took it so I’ve not bothered since.
Maybe when the sun makes a reappearance I might fancy a day out with the football to get in the way. |
