Miles Coverdale until 1967 then Clement Danes until 1971. Plenty if Rs fans at both.

It would be great shame if Jimmy went. BUT if he is not going to sign a contract with us then unfortunately we have little choice but to take the money on offer and let him go.
The club have previously been lambasted on here for not taking a fee and letting a player walk away for nothing 6 months later so I think we should reluctantly thank him for his services and let him go.
Incidentally this time last year this board was calling for him to be sold on, thrown out etc. He then scored the wonder goal and his popularity suddenly grew. Personally I think he was playing well before that and was the subject of some pretty unfair stuff on here.
Love you to sign and stay Jimmy but wish you well if you want to move on.

Leicester defeat a disaster??
at 10:36 22 Jan 2025

I take the points in responses and apologise if my opening comment came over wrong. I suppose it was more about the doom mongers who thought post Leicester we were gonna lose these two away games.
Anyway apologies again.

Hopefully those who said we'd blown it will post apologies to the team and manager tonight.

Was a life member of the Hammersmith ( kent house) club until I moved away and changes were made to the club and life memberships were cancelled.
But having been brought up in the club from birth, played football for them for nearly 20 years and drank there 3 or 4 nights a week loved the place. My dad and his brothers were life members as were my cousins and brother. We loved the place. Great nights with the football team and one memory was as part of Dave Clements testimonial year the club hosted a 'gentleman's smoking evening' which was attended by most of the team and management. It was the year Villa beat us in the semi final replay at Highbury. Bowles and I had a little disagreement when a drunken me asked Stan to get a couple in the replay as my missus had never been to Wembley . He gave me a fiver and said there was a dog meeting on saturday!
Looking back it was quite funny but at the time I saw red and stan and I swapped blows, then ended up later in the evening in the river bar having a beer together .
Loved that club.

45% of the gate receipts so if Spurs sold 50 000 tickets at an average of £40. Tamworth would receive around £900k. Plus any tv fees and commercial sales by the club themselves, scarfs etc etc
Basically the FA have f....ed the little guy yet again.
But sure Spurs will take their overworked players on a nice little earner tour at the end of the season.

Predict the team for the cup game

The FA Cup is far mor lucrative than the league cup. Prize money for 3rd round winners is £105,000 plus a 45% share of the gate receipts. So if 20,000 turn up at a average ticket price of £20 get something like £180,000.
So a win and an away game at say Spurs is massively lucrative.
Talking of Spurs I'm told Tamworth are charging them £42 each for 50 seats and 30 odd pound for 500 standing.

The coldest/wettest you've ever been at a match
at 19:25 4 Jan 2025

Good friday 10th april 1998 away to Sunderland. 2 2 draw after being 2 down at half time. It was absolutely freezing I remember when the coaches turned up and rs fans got off in t shirts ( think they thought stadium of light was Portugal)
Ws had been up there for a week at my wifes folks Northumberland cottage so new it was gonna be cold but j have never before or since been that cold. We met some rs fans who were staying in a caravan in Wooler who said it was warmer outside than in.
After the game we sat in the car for 30 minutes with the heaters on full to get some life back in the feet and hands.
We drewx22 having been 2 down Mije sharon hot a 2nd half brace. Vinny Jones and Razor Ruddock in thd back 4 .
I think it was that point that kept us up and Sunderland were promoted.

On Monday Ladbrokes had us at 100/1 to finish in top 6 and 500/1 for promotion. I think the top6 bet is a cracking good gamble and if they do then why not a few bob on the promotion one ( not automatic but via playoffs) .
It was on the outrights page of their odds machines in store

It seems to a lot of people have spent a lot of time making a simple game difficult.
If we had z shot that might improve our chances of scoring and nen dcwinning a game.
But at least we cant blame Les for this one.
