Kolli on his way?
at 08:40 8 Apr 2025

Yeh exactly. Why are we talking about selling or moving him on when as Norf says, has only started 7 games. He has potential, I want to see him do well here but there's this weird cloud around him that he's not really settled. Whether it's his injury record or rumors online, something doesn't seem conventional about his time here. Whether it's his agent hyping him up, I don't know. ?

I don't know or remember all the details back then , but it was short sighted by him and a massive missed opportunity. Bit like my dad not buying his council house in the 80s. Sure, £6k was a lot of money back then....
Who sold the land behind the school end ? Serious question because that's hampered us too.

Anyway , it's all in the past and we can't change that, so all eyes on the future.

"Not cheap for us" is the crucial bit.

Well excusing paying multi million pounds in the P&S rule era on a player so ill equipped for the Championship as Nico Madsen by saying Nottingham Forest bought Justin Fashanu in 1981 or Manchester United bought Gary Birtles in 1980 made me laugh.

Yeh, that was funny.

When you are buying cheap then more due diligence is needed. As we've seen repeatedly at this club it never seems the case. Yes it's easy to say things in hindsight but we're talking multi millions of pounds at stake and some decisions just look knee jerk. Everything is disjointed. There's no excuses for Madsen and Celar. Terrible players. Or the culture isn't right behind the scenes, which is also possible.

You can do that if the infrastructure is in place and already a well run club, but were not. We're having to start from the ground up every year.

By most on here?
I think most on here gave him loads of support. For years. Yes there were a few mutterings of jobs for the boys etc and he had critics , which goes with the territory.
His time had run its course. He didn't get hounded out, he left because the board decided to get Ainsworth in , which he disagreed on. And he was right. He had his time to turn the club around and he never really fulfilled it , just got us treading water for years. Some might say that's an achievement in itself.
I bet if he could have his time here again , he would do things different.

Yep. As seems to be the case , repeatedly , the owners hire novices for the role. Whether its Les Ferdinand as DoF, Nourry now or even our managers. Cifuentes new to this league, same as Ainsworth , Beale never managing before. We got in JFH , after we sacked off Redknapp, who we then put in another novice in Ramsey in charge of our inevitable relegation.
Even Holloway after had basically retired and been out of the game for years and become a SKY pundit. Maclaren was a decent coach but never a decent manager (had he managed in the championship before? Boro? ). The only one in the last 10 years who actually was qualified for the role and knew what his remit was and how to accomplish it (off the pitch) was Hoos. On the football side we've never had anyone that can move us forward with the financial restraints holding us back. Even , sadly Cifuentes.
Theres no vision, no long term plan, no one is ever on the same page , and that comes down to our inept owners.
I think the owners have no ambition and are scared of hiring someone who knows the game inside out, for fear they will get their pants pulled down like the Hughes and Redknapp era.
It feels a bit like the premier league ,where most clubs just try and exist in the league rather than try and win a trophy or something of real value for the fans.

I'm not saying don't start threads mate, I'm just saying you should expect some flak or misinterpretation of what you are trying to say, if you do.

I don't like getting into debates , and i haven't really got the energy these days, especially about QPR. Its easy to get drawn into them though.
I don't start threads these days for that reason. It becomes hard work if you start taking it personally.

Your whole point of your post was to extract criticism from posters claiming he's had a free ride from criticism. Yay or nay?
Nothing wrong with starting a thread like this Imo , but I'm not sure you shouldn't expect some posters calling you out as well. You've made yourself fair game. lol
Anyway, you've done this loads of times on here, starting something controversial but unable to see it through without getting hurt by others.
If i was you mate ,i wouldn't be bothered by what others are saying. Its nothing personal. Its just a QPR forum.

Ferdinand had years working for this club as DoF. We didnt really progress. Beale stitched him up though. The breakdown in relations between him and Warburton is the part where things started unravelling for Les imo. Beale should never have been given the job, but what could they do, they let our most consistent manager finish his contract and go. We didnt have a manager for months.

Another fine report from the main man.

Nice one Norf.

It all feels so inevitable , like the Matrix, like we've been programmed to just do this. lose, win, but mostly lose, change manager. We cant break the cycle.
Sometimes we get glitches in the matrix when Dunne or Cook decides to volley a goal in, but mainly its the same thing, every season.
