| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 05:37:30 Have Everton ever had a more comfortable win? Men against boys, team with its spirit broken. The only players showing any class are Remy and Townsend and they are very unlikely to be present for long. You have to worry even about next year in the championship - where is the semblance of a team that can compete? |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 00:58:12 What joy after all the crap that we have had to endure this season. It was like watching a different team at times. Hoilett and Townsend were both excellent. We seemed to give the ball away less often when playing out of defence. Still not entirely convinced with Zamora - he does not seem to win many of those high balls pumped forward that he is supposedly there for. For me, man of the match has to go to Jose Bosingwa- I think that it takes some balls to come back and play well after his previous misdemeanours.I though he was often responsible for the good play the ball out of defence. (For me this is the key difference in the premier league, a defender cannot just boot that ball out of defence - he has to find one of his team mates). Also one fabulous piece of defending in the 2nd half when he shepherded a Sunderland player out over the touchline when he could have dived in. Now there is hope where there was none! |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 18:37:42 Expected result but still disappointing. Townsend was my man of the match. Someone who will run at players and make them take a backward step. I know Zamora is injured and not fit and there is not really a replacement but I thought he was totally ineffective. Did he win a single ball in the air? I cannot remember one. Otherwise lots of players looking clumsy on the ball - Mbia, Samba, Mackie in particular. 5 premier league games at home in a row without a goal. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 03:05:13 Far better performance 2nd half, seems like 1st time I have seen QPR playing some football for a long time. Created plenty of chances and unlucky to 'lose' 2nd half 2-1. Seems to me that we have to play 4-4-2. Got torn apart anyway playing defensive 4-5-1. Have to play either Remy/Taraabt or Zamora/Taraabt up front. Granero has to play. Our only chance is to somehow get our 'class' players performing. Having said that I am resigned to relegation. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 04:58:47 If that performance does not get Hughes the sack, then he has a job for life. All the usual complaints - shambolic defending with 6 chances to clear for the 1st Southampton goal, disjointed team play with no goal threat at all. Bosingwa has to take the claim to the worse performance by any QPR player this year - did he do anything right at all? But it would be wrong to pick out any one player - this was a team effort (or lack of). The only reason I can think of keeping Hughes now would be for Fernandes to cut his losses and refused to pay good money after bad. 3 months into the season and absolutely no sign of improvement. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 05:50:16 You would normally say that this was a good away performance, and that QPR deserved at least a draw, but the preceding 10 games colour this feeling. At last we got the line-up everyone has been asking for with Granero, Diakite and Faurlin all in midfield. To me it seemed to have the desired effect, although there still seems to be a dearth of clear cut chances produced up front. I thought we defended well although once again an awful goal conceded where we had at least 3 chances to clear. I feel less despondent this week despite the result although time really seems to running on whilst we wait for the results to come. If we carry on playing like this surely results must start to come!!??? |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 01:00:19 Clearly a poor result and again poor defending for the goal when we had a total of 4 chances to clear the ball. However, a much improved 2nd half performance has left me not knowing what to think - not total despair but still lots to worry about. Taraabt was inspirational and hard working, covering masses of ground. But, many of our attacks appeared to be individual efforts rather than working as a team. I thought the midfield did not play well today - I don't see why Faurlin is not playing with Granero and Diakite. Nevertheless, relieved to that SWP was given a rest . And for goodness sake, our defenders need some heading practice - did we win any from Reading corners? |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 21:04:30 Much happier with the set up of the team . I thought we played well and did enough to warrant 3 points except for dreadful set piece defending…. again. Diakite was my man of the match and Hoilett excellent too. Blatantly clear penalty for foul on Hoilett too. Park and Bosingwa quite poor, though I am prepared to forgice them as they will come good. Has to be viewed as a step in the right direction. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 01:44:38 A better performance in the 2nd half but it is no good to keep saying this, it's results we need. Obviously, awful defending cost us. I don't like to pick on players when they have more talent in their big toe than I have, but I just cannot fathom why you would pick Wright-Phillips. I am sorry but I do not for the life of me I do not understand why you would persist in picking him. I suppose we are a little nearer knowing our best formation. Playing Mbia or Diakite? in front of the back four with 2 out of Granero, Faurlin and Park in the middle. Clearly Taraabt has to play - he provides all of the creativity. Still desperately disappointing |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 06:52:30 Awful 1st half and terrible defending. Game looked totally different with Taraabt and Diakite who I thought also made a big difference despite his inevitable yellow cards!! Granero and Faurlin surprisingly poor in this game. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 08:48:59 The match by match improvement continues. A step-up , in my opinion, from last week's performance v Chelsea and really disappointed to get nothing from the game. Midfield once again superb, constantly winning back the ball and rarely giving it away. i guess we lacked a little bit of a cutting edge in attack. For a man coming back after so long out, I would give man of the match to Kieron Dyer |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 05:40:59 It's good to see continued progress. This was the best performance of the season by some way. I thought a draw was a fair result with the only really worrying spell being after we had lost Fabio and Johnson to injury at the end of the 1st half when we seemed to lose shape and our game plan. I thought our midfield were excellent - I love watching Faurlin, Granero and Park, the latter being my man of the match for the way he broke up Chelsea's play . I must admit I thought Chelsea should have had a penalty in the 1st half when Hazard was brought down. Do have some concerns about where goals are going to come from? Also injuries were the other 'downer' - Fabio did not look too serious but Johnson and Ferdinand are more of a worry |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 21:58:54 No need to panic. Performance not as bad as result - although last 30 minutes were pretty awful after the game was already lost. Thought Park and Diakite were great in 1st half winning the ball back every time. This gave Taraabt plenty of freedom - Hoilett also looked good. I know that Cisse is always liable to score but otherwise he is just not involved in the game. I am not sure that he can play the lone striker effectively. Typical football - look forward to a game for 3 months and totally deflated after 90 minutes!! |
