Half decent tv

Just watched this, excellent and yet another example of the rampant corruption in society that shits on ordinary people. Yet so many continue to fall for it and keep the worst types in power.

Great cast, the lawyer in particular was superb but all were excellent. The actress playing the mother whose baby died is just impossibly pretty. Quite mesmerising in fact.

Its nonsense like this that causes nobody to like Leeds. Cup final? FFS, they are up there with Glasgow Rangers for how deluded they are. Have had about 5 good seasons in the last 50 years.

top tv series you've never bothered watching....

Game of Thrones.

Person above that listed The Wire. IMHO this is the greatest TV show ever made and you'll not regret giving it a go. I heard a lot of people claim Sopranos was better so I watched it from start to finish. It is good, but not even close to being as good as The Wire.

Agree with this, very cleverly written show. Does require high levels of concentration as mentioned so I should probably watch again not on a Friday night while sinking end of week beers.

Highly recommended.

Beer prices at Loftus Road.
at 10:47 5 Mar 2025

That's how they do it at sports grounds here in Sydney. Loads of beers poured that can be quickly grabbed by the person taking your order.

The big difference here though is you can take your drinks back to your seat to have while watching the game. The scenes at half time at LR with people lining up to buy crap, overpriced beer and then having hardly any time to throw it down before the restart are frankly ridiculous. If you can't even have time to enjoy a beer what is the point?

I saw it and genuinely thought it must be an AI made fake, it was that ridiculous. Bullying scumbags humiliating the guy in front of the world.

Vance especially really is a piece of shit.

Forever R's - Les Ferdinand

Ferdinand was an absolutely outstanding player for us, unplayable on his day. Fast, powerful and good both in the air and on the ground.

Absolutely should be recognised. Presided over a very difficult time for the club and IMHO did the best he could.

I'd recommend Mark Hughes. Be a great fit for them.

Two out of their last 3 managers have been foreign and with more pedigree than Marti currently has. Both were sacked.

I suspect they are more likely to go with someone like Kevin Muscat or even bring Gerrard back. The fans will demand a name as they believe they are absolutely massive.

Spot on about the rainbow rangers thing. Someone recently posted a pic of a QPR lapel/pin badge they had made with the rainbow and the comments from some of our fans were awful. Facebook is like that these days though, seemingly full of angry, ageing people who like doing nothing more than constantly complaining about absolutely everything and just being nasty. I pity them if they are always that unhappy.

Aside from Ingham who used to write very long and interesting posts, I also remember Stevenage Hoop (who I had quite a few beers with when he visited Sydney), and Aussie Bee (Brentford fan who posted on the old board and who I ran into watching an England world cup game in 2002).

Sweepy Bee was another Brentford fan and quite the pest on our board. He quietened down a bit after someone identified him (he was running for the local council at the time). There was a football game arranged between our board and the Brentford one. Maybe someone here played or was there, but I think Sweepy agreed to have QPR shaved into his head if we won. We did and it was done. There were photos posted at the time. Just realised a couple of posters above were involved in the game, probably should have read the replies first.

Anyone remember the legendary "Fulham Boy can't get a seat" thread?

I can remember being on a previous version of this board in the very early 2000s.

Wouldn't be a good move.

The current version of the club don't have much in the way of finances to improve the squad and still have a massively deluded fan base that think they should win every game. Any manager that can't beat Celtic to the league will be under a lot of pressure.

Currently 13 points behind which is a fair reflection of the gap. Celtic have a much better squad and plenty of money to improve it thanks to champions league qualification and some big sales in recent years.

Its extremely unlikely, not least due to the number of teams between us and 6th.

However lets allow ourselves to dream while not worrying about relegation, just for a bit eh?

It absolutely is one of the biggest shocks in history. When do Rangers or Celtic ever lose at home to lower division teams in the cup?

You will struggle to find any bigger cup shock (Rangers losing at home to Hamilton in the 80s, who were in the same division, is remembered as one) and its not like the occasional upsets in England where the prem teams send out their reserves. This was Rangers only real chance of a trophy this season so they were well up for it.

There's a huge gulf between Rangers/Celtic and even the 3rd placed premiership team every year. Its a chasm to clubs like Queens Park who play in front of crowds the size of around what Wealdstone get in non league and have only been professional for about 5 years.
