You can see why we're picking up young fans in such numbers. Tbf the Arsenal-United game was decent because they got turned over and their fans found it traumatic to actually lose a match at home (the Guardian article by one of their fans is beyond parody). Part of the problem is a lot of the Premier League 'consumers' don't actually like football. |

Tactical masterclass from Rosenior too. Did anyone tell him how aggregate scores work? |

Jesus, this Chelsea game must be the most boring match I have ever seen. Really sad that this is what football has become at the highest level. Absolutely interminable. |

That definitely trumps the Dave Beasant salad cream incident. The moral of the story is keep Yellow Jersey Ben away from fireworks, condiments and vacuum cleaners. |

Yes, I agree. Injuries notwithstanding, we should be targeting the play-offs; if we'd beaten Wrexham, we'd be sixth. I don't understand why people keep saying next year is the one. Top-class sports people and teams are ruthless; if there's an opportunity, they take advantage of it. This season is a huge opportunity with two of the relegated teams below par and the other one not guaranteed automatic promotion. Hull, with a transfer embargo, are third! Yes, we could do well next season but we must try and get in the play-offs, where anything goes. |

Oh, no worries. Just thought I'd make it clear lol. And for complete honesty, I do think Sam has been poor when he's played this season and I'm not surprised he's left this window but it can't be easy finding your form and rhythm when you're getting 15 minutes here and there. Obviously, he's been a great servant for us over the last few seasons but if the manager doesn't rate you, you're got no option but to leave. |

Just to make clear, that's not me. That account does represent what many of the younger 'ballers' think of him though. |

He had a fantastic match yesterday. Reads the game so well, which helps mitigate any loss of pace. I don't think we will re-sign him because of his wage but he's a big loss playing like that. I assume the plan is for Jimmy and Ronnie to play together. Even the club must realise JC-S is basically semi-retired now. |

Yes, this is why we must go for it. Next season can wait, there's an opportunity right in front of us - the standard this season is very average. Incredibly, if we'd held on against Wrexham, we would be in sixth place! Charlton and Blackburn are both winnable games and by mid-February, injured players will start to come back. That was fantastic and a real statement after last week. Thought Cook, Madsen, Vale and Kone in particular were excellent. What's annoyed me this season is the feeling that it's our best chance of getting in the play-offs for ages - there are no guarantees next season will be the one. Two very winnable games coming up and then some of our favourite players will be coming back. Let's go for this! |

You're awfully optimistic about Charlton away, Clive... |

I still don't understand why he didn't take a few players off at half-time against Leicester. Even we would have struggled to throw that game away. |

Think he's been excellent this season and ironically has been injury-free despite being in a particularly mundane episode of Casualty where loads of people get hamstring injuries. I do tend to agree though. Bit of a red flag that he can't do three-game weeks, though he's obviously in good company. Boom boom. [Post edited 29 Jan 15:10]

Do newer albums have Stats Guy stickers? I can imagine Brentford would have a page of PhD boffins, as well as the foil badge of the bus stop. |

I still have the completed '85 and '86 albums in the attic. Such a thrill opening a pack and seeing that foil, an Ipswich full-back you already had seven swaps of, and the poor Scottish lads getting half a sticker each. This is well worth buying (if you're okay with cheating): https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/ |
